Hi folks,
This is the first year I'll be heading to Vegas for MFest. Any good tips/ideas on what to bring along/be ready for? I'll be caravaning as well so things to be ready for along the way as well as when in Vegas.
Example: If tracking, do I need a helmet?
Thanks,

yes, bring a helmet...as far as what to be ready for? Nothing will prepare you :D

yes if tracking bring a helmet, but be prepared for a no sleep, drunken, action packed weekend! ^^ but like random said...nothing can prepare you!

Get plenty of rest days before the caravan and Mfest weekend. I know it will be difficult, due to all the excitement.
As for the caravan, be ready for a 6 hour trip to Vegas from the time you leave your house in the morning to the time you checkin. If you can go to the pre registration Thursday night in Cerritos (announcement coming soon) it's highly recommended.
Also I'd do at least the basic maintenance checks (tire pressure/thread, oils etc). Last thing you want happening is something to you or your car (Republic Motorsports is offering basic Checks for Mfest. See separate thread).

I totally agree bradah:D

One advice: you might hear all the crazy stories from people who went to the previous events, but dont go with a high expectation. Just bring your heart and be ready to have fun the way you want it to be.

Sun screen and good shoes for the club. Most clubs in vegas require slacks and nice shoes to enter.

Thanks everyone. Will do on the chairs, helmets, and slacks (have camping chairs so yeah!!). Been to Vegas plenty of times but didn't even think to bring dress clothes for this as thought it was all 'car' stuff.

It is 80% car stuff but you don't want to be ill prepared like some were last year.

also bring along plenty of Kodiak...long drive!
This is just in general for road trips and some specific to this event:
ear plugs - depending on if you're sharing a room with someone who snores
sunblock - supposed to be in the high 70s to low 80s
your most comfortable shoes - you walk a lot in Vegas
dress shirt & shoes - if you plan on going to the clubs
folding chair - well... to sit.
helmet - if you're doing a track event
car cleaning supplies, microfiber towels, quick detailer, drinking water, 2 way radios

I see registration is closed for mfest in Vegas. Do alot of others show up that didnt get to register? I want to go, but havent been and dont know anybody that has had experience with this. I live in NM so I was thinking of driving up.

yes, we have had people show up to register at the event site. The only draw back if anything is you wont be able to avail of the group rate discount that Palazzo is giving all MFEST participants as there are very limited number of rooms made available and got booked very fast. If anything, do PM Laidback. Its a long shot but hopefully we can still accommodate you.
As far as experiencing MFEST, i strongly suggest that you check out the posts and picture threads from previous years. But to give you an idea, MFEST has organized activities featuring a wide variety of vendors, track and drag events as well as media coverage and parties for all members and participants. We cant exactly tell and teach you how to have fun but do remember, you are in Vegas, in a company of enthusiasts like you who have nothing better to do but enjoy the weekend in Sin City. I hope you can make it.
Welcome to MFEST

Just like Erick said, PM Laidback as he is the only one that will determine if you can register late or not.

Sounds like a plan... do try to make it to the SoCal pre-registration if you can. Details will be posted as the event draws near...
from all of us at MFEST, glad to have you on board :D

pre-registration gives you the opportunity to get your MFEST shirt, MFEST wristband (w/c serves as your pass to all MFEST events), VIP parking sticker (at the Palazzo),... etc. Its not mandatory but rather highly suggested for SoCal attendees otherwise you will have to fall in line in Vegas with everyone else. Hope this helps :D
