It was very cool, had a lot of fun. That's on hell of a track. Can't wait to come back. Had to cut my laps short since my coolant reservoir tank kept leaking and car was running hot. Love the track though, I had the e36 m3 with the #78.

awesome event as always!
Great event... although getting guests through the gate was a bit frustrating, the actual track piece ran smoothly!
A lot of great cars, and a lot of people smiling... I was able to give a bunch of ride-a-longs as well, which I have video for those folks if I can find them...

+1 on the great track day. Only question I had was for photos being taken on track, are they available somewhere?

Glad to know that you had fun at the track... i do however apologize on behalf of MFEST if we werent able to admit your friend(s) right away. We just had to verify with people from speed ventures. The list they initially gave us werent complete. i'm glad things worked out well though... again, thanks for joining us at the event.

Yes thank you. It was all very worth it. I had a lot of fun. All the other cars looked great. Heard they had a few mishaps on the track with rouge cars getting on. I heard during one of our sessions they had a tuner car passing most of the cars and instructors (lol), they had to eject him from the event.

Hi, awesome video! Just wanted to ask a question about your camera. I'm assuming its the contourgps. How do you like it, had been shopping around for a similar product and didn't even know this existed. Thanks for the feedback, Tomas

Track day was fun, even though I was in the beginner group and only RAN once (first two don't count IMO)
I set up my gropro for the third session...and it only recorded 3 minutes. NO track time, just waiting to go out. I've got a 16G card in it! What settings should I be on, as I'm sure the battery died, even though I charged it all night long. BOO.
My only REAL complaint was that my wife was held out from riding with me. they told her to go get a passenger band (At the time we were heading out to track, never mentioned before) and then they wouldn't let her back in!!! they told her that since I was a beginner we couldn't have passengers, enve though the 135 in front of me and M5 behind me both had passengers.:mad::mad:
Other than that, I had a great time. it was great seeing the cars, especially the differnet cars running!! A caddy, a LOUD S2000 (nice car BTW), couple GTRs, LFA, a bangin 135 (BERK), etc.

They did allow passengers, I had my wife's 17 yr old cousin with me the whole time. I only did the 3 sessions too and count only the last one. Still had a great time but right after the second session I had to drive the wife n kids all the way back to the hotel. They had been cooking in the sun since the morning.

Not a problem! I actually just uploaded your video:
YouTube - 4/23/11 - LVMS Mfest V - Rides -- Daniel
I didn't have the video of your wife riding along, although it was pretty funny hearing her giggle in the corners :)
I have a video of another person who rode with but only got one lap since the checkered was thrown... I didn't catch his name though... so, if you're reading this thread, I have a video of you too!

That's what I mean. They WERE allowing passengers, just not mine, even after she signed the waiver and got the wristband. It's over though, no qualms held over!!

That LFA was fast! In your vid he just puts space on you on the front straight. The one time I saw him I just got outta the way :D.
The coolest thing was they *drove* that LFA. No parade laps at all for that thing. They pushed it. Mad props to VIP and Toyota for doing that. :buttrock:

Not bad times at all... My friend with the miata did a best of 2:10.8xx, I believe my best of the day was a 2:04.8xx on some pretty old hankook rs3s; with passengers it was around 2:08-2:10... Just wish I had more power. There was a red m3 with a wing (believe he was doing 2:02s) that would eat me up in the straights!! A 250bhp s2k vs a 450bhp M3 and the difference on the straights is incredible... Even with 700lb difference, watching the e92s pull on me hard in the straights was pretty impressive!

+1 lol the only time I was able to keep up with Big Daddy Julio was when he was in Scott's E46 M3. But when he was in the E90 M3, I see the tail lights getting further and further lol :flag:
I best lap was 2.08.xx that day, it was my 2nd time out on the track. :buttrock:

Not sure why SV has a 2:09 recorded.
My best lap time was a 2:07.3xx driving the car at 6-7/10th's since I have a slipping clutch and I'm on borrowed KWV2's. :p (Motons are sold and JRZ's didn't make it in time) Hopefully we can get the car back in competition form by July so we can start testing for SLB!
The only person that got a ride along with me was Constantin. Trung asked me for a ride along but I couldn't find him when my session was us.

+1 I don't think I heard one complaint about someone taking a bad line or not pointing by, etc. Well, I did in the beginner's DL meeting, but that's why we were in the beginner group.
Great track experience. Hopefully I'll have some mods before next year...

Wouldn't have been too much of a difference at LVMS, since there aren't too many high speed turns. You'd likely see a second difference at best, since you could go flat around the sweeping right turn at the end of the back straight... rather than having to lift a little.
For those talking about mods. Alignment, brakes and tires... Ignore the suspension mods for the time being. teaches you a lot when you track the car as close to stock as possible... then slowly make changes. Plus, you can brag about posting faster times with a near stock car while guys with a ton of mods are scratching their heads :) haha

yeah. I just had a set of Hankook V12s put on the day before the Texas caravan departed. They responded nicely. My first DE I had KDW's on and IDK if it was because they were almost done or what, but I didn't like them.
I know V12s aren't the greatest, but you can't beat the performance/price combo!!

Yeah that turn had me worried a few times as the laps went on and I got braver!
I agree, and that's the main reason I'm still bone stock after a year of owning it.
Wish I had been able to take you up on your ride alongs though. That S2000 was sick.

I had a great time in the Berk 135i giving rides! An awesome group of people and some seriously sick cars. This was our first year at MFest so we learned a lot for next year. More structured ride-a-long program (now that we know how many people we can get done in one session) is one of them, sorry to those who didn't get to go for a ride. We will also compete in the Tuner Shootout next year (didn't even know there was one this year) to see how we stack up. I went out in the Tuner Shootout session but we didn't have a transponder so not sure where we ended up time wise. We got past the HPF car though so I would assume we would have at least taken 2nd place behind the Hankook M3. Oh well, now we know for MFest VI and we are definitely looking forward to it!

Dude, that BERK 135 was amazing. I signed up for, but missed out on a ride.
Thanks! It is an exceptionally fun little car and the team at Berk has dialed it in so well. It's actually a fairly straight forward and simple build. The car makes anywhere from 380-410whp depending on the dyno on the stock turbos, bolt on parts, and a tune. Aside from our spring rates, roll cage, and front splitter everything on that car is off the shelf. The Berk crew deserves all of the credit for the hard work and commitment. I just get to show up and do the fun stuff haha.
We will iron out the wrinkles in the ride-a-long program for next year for sure. Since it was such a hit, maybe we can convince Speed Ventures to let us go out during more sessions in order to get more people in the car. We'll also try and figure out a way to make sure we have extra helmets for those who don't have their own. The rental helmets that Speed Ventures had were not as easy for people to get as we had hoped.
