This is the LPG tank "Liquid Petroleum Gas Subestituto gasoline.
Here in Portugal Petrol is too expensive costing € 1.75 per liter and LPG costs € 0.70 a liter!
Have a photo of the engine where it shows the LPG injectors on your left!
Walk the same and is cheaper and is a much cleaner fuel!

but about the GPL on a M car -- WTF? don't match at all . in all the europe the petrol is expensive (aprox 1,60 euro in germany , 1,40 euro in Romania (and by the way , here the medium salary is 200 euro per month) , 1,30 pounds in the uk etc etc but i never seen an M car running on GPL.
the engine will wear prematurely because GPL is a more much dry fuel than petrol and there are more bad bits about it . think about it ;)

LPG is a clean fuel, ie without imposing the normal fuel and dirt the only difference is noble not to be lubricated!
LPG is 110 octane!
For years this was the problem of LPG also including the power loss, but was created for this product called "Flash Lub" is pictured on the left of the image at the top of the engine.
As the acceleration and RPM's it sends x amount of lubrificate so as not to ruin the engine.
Here in Portugall exist M5 M3 AMG Porshe to LPG with lots and lots of kms ...
A friend of mine has an M3 with nearly 200.000kms the LPG and 0 problems ...

i just read up on the LPG--yes it does reduce emissions but it builds up in hydrocarbon. i don't know what's worse but for the amount of gas money you saved i think this is a great alternative! very nice build my friend, indeed, please let us know how you did the conversion, i'm sure all of us are anxious to find out how you did it!

again nice build on the car so far can't wait to see further progress!

First of all Thank you!
Almost all cars can use LPG!

There are 3 types of LPG kits:
Aspirate
Injection Secuencial
Direct Injection

The aspirate is used in cars on the carburetor and the main defect is the loss of power normally 10/20hps depending also on the cylinder!

Injection Secuencial is what my M3 has, is used injectors per cylinder of LPG. This reduces the power loss and the low consumption per liter.

Direct injection is the latest novelty and is used in the latest car 335i 535i m3 e90 type m5e60 .... The main advantage is to lower consumption by 10% and an increase of power between 20% and 25%!

In all three types of LPG KIT can be use Lubrication KIT, so it reduces the potential wear of the valve is injected as a lubricant called Valve Care.

To get an idea of what has already saved up to € ...
(Price Português Converted in Dolars)

Gasoline - $ 2.52 liters
GPL - $ 1.03 liters

The M3 spends 12 liters per 100kms Petrol
The M3 spends 15 liters per 100kms GPL

Gasoline:

In 10.000kms.

12L ----- 100
L x ------ 10000

To use 10000kms 1200Litros Gasoline!

1200x2.52 € = $ 3024

And spent $3024

LPG:

15L ---- 100
xL -----10000

To 10000Kms spent 1500Litros LPG

1500x$1.03 = $ 1,545

I have a saving of $1479 per 10.000kms!

That's basically it!
