Are the velocity stacks really worth it besides giving a better sound?

I don't think you would hear the difference, and you run a significant risk of screwing up the airflow without a LOT of R&D + software (IE: Dinan).

Did you do your S2 at one time or did you piece it together ide like to know the difference between the headers then adding the throttle bodies ?:D

-I did it all at one time. Come to think of it, this is the FOUR year anniversary of the mod. I can't believe I've had Tiamat for so long! Anyway, a couple months after I bought it I took it to Willow Springs. Immediately after that I called Chris at BMS to order the Dinan parts. They got the conversion done in only a week in time for Xmas at my parents :D
p.s. Headers should provide more HP gain than the TBs, with no other mods.

I looked into stacks one time, I recall reading someone on the M5 board did a dyno and lost power with them.

-What time? IMZ4N and btotoro will be there too, for pre-track inspections. I may come down, depending on my/baby's schedule.

i did things piece by piece. The throttle bodies and velocity stacks were done on my car at the same time as cams (at dinan morgan hill), dyno'd 40hp at the wheels gain. Dinan is pretty accurate in his hp claims, and he says tb's and stacks are worth 28hp, which i'd believe.
the shorty stacks that you see being sold to use on a stock car are pretty much worthless.

-The velocity stacks only feed the TBs. Without TBs they may even hurt performance. TBs without the stacks would increase power, but not as much as when combined with stacks tuned to the TBs.

And also he can bring his beast at Mfest 3;)...I've seen Mike's beast when we visited NorCal and you won't believe how pristine it is...I'm happy he didn't sell it (when he thought of selling it last year)...
