APPLIES TO ALL E38 7-SERIES AND E39 5-SERIES OR M60-M62 MOTORS

About 5-months ago when I had my 01' E38 740iL, I had a small power steering leak. I heard its terrible on rubber. I traced it down and saw it was on the mounts a bit. Around the same time I did a muffler delete and was hearing some weird grinding noises. So I did a test:

Start car > Put in Drive > DSC ON > Hold foot on Brake and Give it Gas.

** Watch the motor from seat, hood up. Or have someone watch the motor if you cant see it. If the mounts are going bad, it'll lift from driver side a bit. If the mounts were like mine, the motor will literally lift out and belt driven fan grind on fan shroud. Once I saw this, mounts were ordered. The thing is, the mounts were bad but I could not tell from driving, idle, or anything. Only gain was torque feeling after the mounts were put in. Heres a pic of what my mounts looked like:

Noo problem. Like I said, I gained the feel of torque since it didn't waste twisting out lol but yeah I was amazed how I didnt notice it at all. No thump on braking or accel.
