Went up to NorCal and got gas at one of the 76 gas station and when i saw the gas price it was $2.05, told to myself that's sweet:D so I went in and use my atm card and after punching in my pin number the gas price instantly change to $2.11:mad: I'm like wtf? i asked them inside and the attendant said that the price $2.05 is for cash only:confused:....so i let that go but am i a bit confuse, can they really do that? and again last night when i returned the rental (SoCal) i pumped gas and this time if you use a credit or atm card they charge you $.45 processing fee on top of the gas and again price changes when you use an atm/ credit card and cash...bizaaaare but true
anyone have similar experiences? and what is your take on this...

Yepp..It appears that they can do that.
Do you remember way back when? Merchants use to charge fees to use credit cards, if your bills was not a certain amount? Well, I believe that was found to be illegal, so they found a way around it by changing the prices.
I know that some stores would pass the credit card surcharge savings on to the consumer if you paid cash for high dollar items.
I think they just need to quit whining and suck it up as the cost of doing business.
