The seats - BMW and Saab have the best seats IMO.
And the drive. It feels so planted and stable.

Yeah, I'm 6'2" and thin. So finding a seat that has a longer base, and nice wrap-around bolstering is more difficult then it sounds.

Ha, the M Coupe is easy.
Tell him to try out a Lotus Elise. Now that takes some practice (and flexibility), finding the right way to get in and out of that.

Im 6'4" and I got into Mcoupes with ease... I destroyed them at the M driving experience...

And I destroyed the M5's... I spun the m5 out 2 times with dsc on... thats how crazy i was going... I got the fastest lap out of everyone in the group and I was the youngest... If I had 1 more chance I think I could have beat everyones time that day cause dsc kicked in on one of my laps and wouldnt let me accelerate or downshift to first and I didnt fully stop fast enough at the end...lol at least 1 sec because of that...

Did you get one of these cones? They used to give these pylons out to the fastest lap for the timed autocross events.

One time I was test driving a Cayenne through an autocross event, and the instructor completely freaked out. "What are you doing??? This is an SUV!!! It can't handle that!!!" He was literally scared. He said he had never been so scared in his life. I was honestly mystified, we weren't doing anything really crazy, and I think we had a Cayenne at the time, so I was pretty familiar with the handling.

On another note, there was this time where I test drove the (at the time) brand new GTO at a GM driving event. I came back to a cheering crowd, and I found out what "it's a little light in the rear end" meant. Pretty embarassing...

Haha, no it was only my group... someone in the next group of 10 drivers had almost a second off of mine and 2 others were like half a second off so I was like the 4th or 5th best out of the 3 groups :/ .... Im telling you if that instructor didnt tell me to keep dsc on and If I wouldda stopped faster I woud have gotten one :/ next time...

If I went back and drove a manual transmission M, Id do better because I Have down heel toe-ing pretty good now ... wooohoo for practice... And I have more miles racked up at Turnbull canyon...

Dang I barely realized that this is your cone! WOW! Great job! the GTO's do have a light rear like a milder version of the viper I hear... The viper is said to be the most crashed car due to drivers error...

Dang I barely realized that this is your cone! WOW! Great job! the GTO's do have a light rear like a milder version of the viper I hear... The viper is said to be the most crashed car due to drivers error...

This is a few years back and the first time we've seen the GTO, and we're all talking about how excited we are. I used to drive a 1970 Pontiac GTO with 400 cubic inch motor. At the time, my daily driver is the perfectly balanced e36 M3.

So, there are two side by side test drive lines for the GTO at El Toro, and then, at that point, they decide to officially designate one line "Manual Trans" and the other line "Automatic." Since everyone was opting for the manual, and the autos are sitting.

Well, I happen to be lucky and am standing in the newly designated manual line.

Next manual car comes up, and a guy in the auto line jumps up and goes over to the car. I'm like, "Excuse me, what do you think you're doing?" He's like, "Well, I've been waiting to drive a manual and I want to drive a manual" And "I'm like, well, then you need to go wait in the manual line." So, I get in front of him and get into the car. He is not happy, but he is being a jerk.

Obviously, pumping with quite a bit more adrenaline than normal, I get into the GTO and I am doing really good, and man this car feels great, so I just keep going for it, shifting through the gears and doing the course. Next thing I know, I'm starting to lose it, and absolutely fail to recover and spin off the course taking a pylon or two with me. Now, two cone setters on bicycles are rapidly approaching me, yelling, I honestly thought they were going to escort me off the course or something. But they let me finish, I come back head down to a cheering crowd and go on my "significantly more humbled" way...But I did learn the lesson of a light rear end...

haha... I got yelled at when i was driving the M5 at the driving event I was told not to drive it anymore... I was used to my 944 turbo with all aftermarket suspension and was pushing the car over "rental car status" as the instuctors told me not to... My goal of the day before i went in was to spin out... and I accomplished it 3 times...lol, 1 on the skidpad and 2 on the autocross timed course... Then on the bigger course I was power sliding the hell out of it out of some turns and the instructor told me on the Walkie Talkie "Mychael, This is not a toyata corolla! You have 500HP Under your Butt!" LoL, Goodtimes... It was fun as hell though... I wanna autocross or run at the track when I come back... if not For sure you can find me at turnbull canyon... I know that canyon pretty well...
