Hey guys, so I'm debating on where to buy my new HID headlight set from - DDM or European Auto Sport (EAS). Major differences are that at DDM I'd get DJ Autos which is about $50-70 cheaper (depends on what kind of AEs i get) than EAS, which are DEPO Projectors. I've heard alot of bad things about DDM such as condensation and horrible customer service, and my friend just told me about EAS today so I dont know alot about them. Anybody have any recommendations for either website?

Edit: also, should I get 35W or 55W? Sorry, I'm still completely new to these sorts of things.

Go with the DJ Auto from DDM, much better than Depo. 35W because 55W is more prone to overheating, such as on my old set of ballasts. I have plenty of light with 35W. Haven't had any condensation or customer service issues yet, although I'm aware some have.

55w for sure but both will throw codes on your OBC haha

for sure thanks. i've gotten basically an even split between the DJ Auto's and DEPOs from people I talk to. the only things I know for sure are that I want 6000k and I want angel eyes lol

You'll need to run a resistor.

From what I've seen, the plastic rails and tabs are built sturdier on the DJ Auto.

I have the DDM Dj Autos on my car with DDE ultra AEs and they have been running great for the past 3 years that I had them. I also have 55w ballasts, no issues there. Some condensation issues after car washes but thats it.

dont u have "low beam failure"?

alright so i think im gonna do the DJ Autos from DDM. now the question is what kind of Angel Eyes and which ballasts. i definitely want 6000k but i cant decide between the 35W or 55W (and I'm assuming i should go with the RAPs?). does the ballast affect the light tinting, i.e. will getting 55w make the 6000k more blue than white? as for the AEs i cant decide between the thin-lines and the Ultra HD. someone said that the thin-lines come out blue. can anybody attest to that?

check my post "325is updates or something" it has the HD ones and 55w (everything that costed the most)

the raptors are known to be more reliable than the slim ballasts. i haven't had any problems with my 35w slims yet, just the 55w slims. ddm states their 55w washes out the color a little more than 35w. (i.e. 8000k 55W = 6000k 35W, 6000k 55W = 5000k 35W, and so on) i have the thinlines and they are around a 35w 6000k, white with a light tint of blue, but not full-on blue. i personally don't like the fatter AE rings on E36's so i went with the thinlines.

fair enough i think im just gonna go 35w bc they seem to be the most straightforward option. besides, i dont really have the desire to go blinding everyone on the 405 lol. still up in the air with the AEs gonna have to do a little picture searching

lol yeah, even when i had my 55w 6000k aimed all the way down, i was flashed 1-2 times every night i drove around the e36. i'll post some pics of my AE's later if that'll help.

Back to the low beam failure issue! I have been running the depo headlights for a while from ddm on 55w's my driver right side has always had a problem with the low beam failure. Its 50/50 if it works or not! As you can imagine, amazingly annoying! I have swapped it from my other car and tried the 55w on my other car and it runs fine then i put it back in and it worked but then today no luck! What do I need to do to fix this anyone!!!!! PLZZZZZZ HELP!!!!!.

Some run HID fogs only with headlights off. Wish I had more info because they look cool, but it should be the same setup as the headlights? :iono:
