Hi

I'm not sure if an MFest member has already done this mod or something like it, so apologies if it's already well known about !

A NYC based enthusiast has changed the headlamp 'strip' at the top from orange to black and updated the lights to projectors and HID's and replaced the little LED's on the sides as well.

I can never remember how to embed youtube video as each forum is different and confusing to remember how on each (yes, I'm getting old!)

My E60 Indianapolis Red M5 w/ blacked out headlights and Orion V2 AE - YouTube

I think it's an excellent mod if you want more stealth with those Dame Edna E60 headlamps !

Cheers, Dennis!

i've been debating to get the inside of my headlights blacked out i think it looks sick, just a little sketched out by opening the headlights. i wish there was a DIY out there on how to do it, also want to see if anyone has done this on an LCI i always see it on a preLCIs.

I may do it just before switching to LCI so if i mess up its no big deal or if i like it i could just keep these!

cool post thanks!

Hi,

The owner has written a little about how he's done it in a thread that's over on the m5board. Perhaps a NYC area MFester can coerce him more into showing his car here :)

Cheers, Dennis!

But is it just me, or the motor doesn't sound healthy?

Cold start on the e60 M5 sometimes is sketchy, but the sound is normal

I'm not on that board often. I'm on forums.5series.net a lot. I had a 545i with Cherry Bomb exhaust before I got the M. I have more info and another thread on how another member did it.

Nope. Danny Kenny New York

Not the first with the Orion. But the first with the blacked out eyebrow portion. :D I had to cut out the entire piece, spray it and silicone it back.

Umnitza has a pdf on the install. That's the one I followed for mine. Google Umnitza E60 Orion install or something like that.
