When I bought my car it had a front plate, and I've since had the bumper repaired and repainted. Debating if I should have a clear bra installed.
Had one on my 3er so I know it doesn't stop the largest stones; but after washing it today I noticed the M is already getting a few small chips.
So what's the general view? Yay or nay?

I currently don't have it on my current M.
However, I did have it on my first M3, and although it prevented the rock chips after some time it not longer had the paint shine that the rest of the car did which really annoyed me. The product that I had as made by 3M, and I know that some other companies are making them now as well. I think after my next bumper repaint, I am going to cover just the bumper and see how that works out.

IMHO it's worth it. I'm planning to redo mine but this time customer wrapped on the whole hood.

Both my vehicles have been clear bra'd by Premier Mobile. A must have for my two rides.

Here's my take and why i get a clear bra for my car/s ...People say i'll jsut get it resprayed which is very good but after picking it up from the paint shop and drive it back home there will be atleast one rock chip on the fully repainted bumper...hence i would recommend leave it as is and endure the rock chips or flakes on the front bumper:D or get your self a custom wrap or a regular wrap atleast...clear film has evolve in years and installers have improve aswell, i would recommend getting Venture shield for the clear film...btw even my headlights and foglamps have clearfilm:D

Yeah, I had Ventureshield on my E90, and after 2 years it had maybe 3-4 small tears from large rocks. But the film absorbs the impact of the small stuff.
Gotta call the guy today and see when I can head over.

no bra, but i do wish i had one though. cali sucks!
The previous owner installed it, and I'm a big fan. The subtle line is much better than the scratches I see would've been huge looking at the plastic.

 for a clear bra. i'm getting all my front panels repainted right now & i want to protect my investment in keeping my car chip free. i feel that it's wiser to replace the clear bra, rather than repainting the panels every 5 years cause of rock chips.
i'll prolly be wrapping my entire front panels up when i get the car back.
keep in mind, that when you repaint your car, you're gonna hafta let the pain cure after you receive it back. so you shouldn't wax or apply a clear bra until 30-60 days after you receive it back to make sure the paint is fully hardened.

I never liked the idea of a clear bra, but I have one and it's a great psychological advantage. Feel much better on the group drives. Not cheap, but definitely worth it.
