WooHoo...Won a Trial by Declaration!

I got a ticket for "failure to come to a complete stop" while I was doing a post-midnight pad bedding session in Irvine (Bonita Canyon Rd., not one car in sight either way) with the Dinan BBK kit. The cop didn't see the brake lights he was looking for as I had basically stalled it in first gear coming to a stop so I wouldn't have to touch the brake pedal...I got a ticket as well as a threat to have my car towed for driving an unsafe vehicle (right, officer...!) when I tried to explain what I was doing (I had all the same-day work receipts but he wouldn't look at them) and why I actually had come to a stop. So, I submitted my explanation and associated paperwork and received a "Not Guilty" court verdict today...well worth the effort and very satisfying!

Grats! I have never tried a trial by declaration, but I've heard great success from many people. Hopefully I'll get lucky in the future.

Congrats Bart! Glad to see someone win. I lost both of my cases last year that I tried to do by written declaration. They didn't even give me a reason, just said "GUILTY."
