GTI is a great ride. Love the DSG.
My second car was a 1984 VW GTI (Mark I)

I'm always one for manual, but thought the DSG was fun. Everyone says the fun of a DSG wears off after a couple hours.
Gotta love a girl that knows how to drive a stick :D

I wish they had made the R32 in a four door. At one point, near the end of supply, they were $6K off.
The R32 is heavy, but sounds so nice. GTI can probably be made to go faster for less though. I've always had a soft spot for the GTI, and finally they are back to their roots. They had some mediocre years for a while.

I think the R32 is pretty much gone now out of dealer stock, as it was a 2008 model and production was fixed. I was looking back in August when they still were clearing them out at very good prices. Performance value of the GTI is much better though. I think you made the right choice.

congrats on the new car. My brother has a GTI with the DSG, that car is fun. To bad its not a rear wheel drive. I would jump into one if it was.
