Hi guys/gals, this is one of the mods that i'm looking to do in the future so right now i'm doing some research. I've heard people use these terms loosely so i'd like to know what's the different between the two (i think i know the answer) but still want to hear from the experience folks. I went to KW's site since i've heard a lot of good things about this product and under the products tab they used two terms .

look into kw clubsport coilovers, i like the design with the included top hats/camber plates.
i may be selling my v2 to jump on these in the distant future.
i hate linking to m3forum but heres a little review i found

I have Ground Control and love it. TCK is basically the same thing but said to ride better due to better valving. KWs come with progressive rate springs but the clubsport versions are linear.

i got ground contols(eibach springs with koni yellow shocks). its just perfect. you can always swap out the springs for track(stiffer). im running street(super soft), not as bouncy, comes with camber plates, its just great IMO. i guess you have to ride in it before you get the feel for it.

So pros/cons of coil overs?
Pros are adjustable ride hight, and much improved performance...I guess some cons could be too stiff of a ride depending on witch coils you pick but KWs I hear are a very smooth ride...They also come with a warranty...Not many cons I can think of...

Sorry not all coilovers have warranties but KWs do..

kw has lifetime warranty
H&Rs are noisy or clunk for the E46 M3. Bilsteins do no come with camber plates and are one of the softer coilovers for this car as well, but with that said, great for daily driving.

what do u want to do with the car? daily, any track?
i can tell u right now that h&r is a terrible setup on the e46 m3.

Yup! That's why i'm going for them but there are some many versions .

I want to low it a little to give it a better look and handling. This car is more of a weekends/holidays as i still have my '96 DD :laughhard:. As for track likely not but "maybe" once in a blue moon.

+1 but which series to get for our cars  I see the HLS, Street Comfort, Clubsport, and Competition.

for you thomas id recommend the kw v2.
maybe u can drive a car that has them and see how you like them.
i would let you drive my car but they are not normal off the shelf v2s

That's what i'm planning on getting as the v3 cost more $$$ but it's only good if you track your car a lot which i'm not doing. Do you know the different on the series i posted?
i can let you try out my car if you want. i have kw v2's.

i'd say kw v2 or tck with a low spring rate
get GC or TCK with low spring rate.. those are the only 2 brands I'd consider for this car because the value and quality are both great. I'm not sure if KW comes with camber plates.

kw v2/v3 dont come with camber plates, but the clubsport edition does include them

check out these baller intrax suspension (http://www.intraxracing.nl/?cat=productdetail&prodid=23&title=E46_3-Series_M3_Coupe,_Cabrio_+_CSL_dampers_1K2)
whats so unique about them is the rear is a coilover as well. instead of a spring in a perch,

u can have moton make the rear a coilover as well, friend did it in his 330

Thomas - do the KWv2!
as i previously mentioned, i've worked out a SICK deal with one of my sponsors. i personally have v2's and there is NO con's to it. you can get as aggressive as you want, but like me..i wanted a nice, "stock like" ride quality....so she sits just above the tires and isn't too stiff. she's my daily and do not track her.
hit me up! and for anyone interested, let me know.

Ah, I see. I may go with KW V2s then. I'll mostly be on the street with a few autox a year.

Yeah i will probably go with the kw v2 clubsport setup like Will Pwr on M3forum. Since it comes with the camber plates it should compliment each others.

Some people tells me that it's good to do the subframe at the same time (don't have that sort of cash right now). The last time i took my car in for service they checked and nothing but i'm concern that once i put kw suspension goes in this prob will come up. So what's everybody takes on this?

don't do it unless u need it or u have a lot of power.
how much are those kw v2 clubsports, i think its most likely a waste of money...u can get a tck setup with vorshlag plates for right around 2k
if u want a nice comfy ride, just do 400 lb springs

so if i go with the kwv2s i will need camber plates? why?
does the v3 come with them?
which gives a "smoother" ride...i feel that the stock right now feels "rough" compared to other bmws.....(same series, non M)

as ur in LA, i'd suggest riding with people, plenty have both setups down there...just making the tck setup is a lower spring rate ie not 550/600 like me

I've road in KWv2, but own TCK 550/600 with TCK Cambers. The ride is much smoother than the kw's. IMHO I think the TCKs rides better than stock...
