For the most part, we won't see a true individual car with both individual exterior and individual interior. This is beyond rare with the only cases coming for fully paid cars before it's even produced. Generally, it's one or the other. But for the most part, usually it's the exterior because that's what BMW approves 99% of the time for US spec cars. Even the Individual program for the 7 series is heavily watered down for the US. As you already know, it's because customers can back out of an order while it's being produced, so BMW doesn't want to be stuck with an individual car and be stuck with it (like that PY with LSB interior). However, PY was actually a standard color for a couple years for the E46 M3 but not other models.

Not only that, but the thread kinf of wandered. Many of the pics on the first page are of colors that were totally available on the model pictured and are just more rare than individual.

A good example is the E36 ///M3 in Byzanz. This was a color availble in the book on '97 four door M3s. It was just ahead of it's time, and people were not into the orange at the time. But look, in the last few years Nissan, Infinity, and some others have embraced the color orange.
