Other than it raining like hell it was pretty good. We actually entered the building through the wrong door and ran into Bangle in the hallway. He was very friendly, and had no problem talking to the BMW nuts for a few minutes.

So the lecture was host by UCLA's Architecture and Urban Design (AUD) department, and was open to the public. As you can imagine the main auditorium was totally packed, so we ended up in and overflow room that was broadcasted streaming from the main room. Anyway, most of it was kind of over my head as the conversation was about automobile design in general and not just about BMW. He also spoke like non-stop for the entire presentation so there was just so much information being conveyed it was hard to keep up.

He basically discussed why cars look the way they do, why they all for the most part look the same, and what they may look like in the future and the kinds of features that they may have.

He had a great slide where he had a BMW and a Merc side by side and took them apart piece by piece revealing the same underlying shape. He then put them back together reavealing that they could be two Mercs or two BMWs.

He just went over a lot, and if you wern't there you missed out. Things are going to be interesting in the years to come if even half the stuff that he talked about make their way into the market.

I'm curious what he said on this topic...
