e 3 Sleeper Headed Out

I know I've posted a bit about Rich's M3 in the past few days, but I wanted to post up it's farewell from our shop. It's been here a long time because he's been over fighting for us in Afghanistan. We took the motor out of his car and rebuilt it 3 times (while he was overseas) due to the engine smoking (the machine shop we "were" using was leaving taper in the cylinders after the honing process). This last time we used a different machine shop with computerized machining and torque plated each engine to eliminate all taper and ovaling. In addition to Rich's M3, we also pulled out the motors of every customer whose blocks we sent to that particular machine shop and had them rebuilt at the new machine shop. That process has taken about a month worth of labor and probably around $30K in rework, but I'm happy to see the cars go. :)

Once Rich's beast leaves here it's going to a stereo shop that is going to do the audio in the car. After that it's going to get the Asuka widebody installed.

We stamp customers first and last initials into the block and the head so they are never mixed up here or at the machine shop.
