both the ESS software and the Discovery Auto tunes will work well with the ram air scoops. Without software, your comp will store "increased airflow" codes in the history. As far as I know, the Discovery tune was done with the RPi ram air scoops so it was tuned specificly for it. Great combo!

The stock intake system is based on vacuum. The stock air intake sucks in cold air as the entire system is sealed. The problem is when people install what we call "hot air intakes" on their cars, the ecu generally does two things. Air/fuel mixture gets more rich and ignition timing is reduced causing a loss of power. This is often overlooked as the cars "feel" faster because with an induction intake, the engine sound is louder. We use a ram air method to "ram" more cold air into the factory intake ducts. This allows us to pressurize the air and force it through the stock panel filter.

would the scoops be good for cooling of superchargers, and do you have any pics of scoop on an m3? thanks

If you use the stock intake ducts, then the scoops may help bring more cool air into the engine bay. As far as pictures, maybe Dave can post some?

i thought we came stock 333hp?

myke951

but to the wheels is after drivetrain loss... not all of that horsepower gets to the wheels... the manufacture hp rating is to the crank or just the engine...

then whats stock to the wheels?

RooR's dyno was from a Dyno dynamics (aka Heart breaker as it put's down low numbers but guaranteed hp/tq if there is gain, on the streets on this Dyno)
iirc when we dyno'd my Z4MC (same motor as the M3) we got @ 240+ RWHP (Stock) on the dyno dynasmics with the scoops we gained 12 hp and with the tune a combine 22 Hp and a alot of torque..., looking at David's Dyno he got @ 10-15 RWHP...hope this helps...
