Maybe it's time to get new headlights. I have non-angel eye OE lights now on the E39 M5. I do not want to go 6000 K on the HID's - tried it and didn't like it - I would rather stay at 4300 K. Any advice is appreciated about which lights to get, quality and fitment are important. Well, price too...TIA!

Euro spec Lights OEM... Re use your ballast and just get the adapter plate so it bolts right on its a dealer part...
Then Add some V3s for the angel eyes!!!

With the factory HIDs at 4300k @ 35w(assuming it's the same as the M5s as on M3s) I'd go with a higher wattage 4300k(factory temp) or 5000k(whiter temp) @ 55w. Check this website out and find something under the 55w selections: http://lightwerkz.net/prod_hidkit.htm

I personally like the color temp of 5000K. It's "daylight" white. I recently went 35W for my e36 and seems to be bright enough for my taste. However, I do have to deal with my OBC warning me that my low beams have failed (because it draws less power than the OEM set up). If you want really bright Angeleyes, check out the 60 LED Aurora put together by EAS (European Auto Source). They're one of the Mfest sponsors and have a great website. Very educational. Good luck in your research! ;)

I went with the Euro's.....
anyone know if you can somehow wire the DRL's to go off and angel eye's on when you do the first click? as of right now, my DRL's and angels eye's are on on the first click and finally go off when the headlights are on....second click.
i might just have to go to the dealer and have them delete my DRL's. do they charge to do that?

dealer will charge you...I would go to Southbay Autohaus or Europeanautosource.com and see if they can do that for a fraction of the cost of the dealership...I went with the Euro's.....

Do not go to the dealer. There are private parties who can do that. I'll ask for you...

I have a 2001 beast with angel eyes stock. I wanted to upgrade to clear corners.
I purchased an original Hella projectors with clear corners in eBay from a seller in Germany. I purchased it for $900.00.
Then I sold my 2001 projectors with yellow corners on eBay for $550.00.
So a $350.00 upgrade. Not bad.
If you dont mind yellow corners, you can buy a set of Hella's in eBay for a decent price.
Note, and my personal opinion on this. Avoid DEPOT brand. Buy only original HELLA's and it will always be a perfect fit and perfect function and pefect compatibility with our beast.
Believe me, I have tried the DEPOT brand on my 2000 540i, and DEPOT brand on my son's 330ci - they are simply not the best quality.
Our beast deserves better.
