Personally, it was between an Audi A6 (C6) or BMW 545i (e60). The 545i was optioned much better, price was cheaper, and the driving experience was much more enjoyable even if the A6 was Quattro.

I decided on the e60 over my favorite, the e46 M3, since having 4 doors would be nice for a change.
