I love these cars. Beautiful design.
I cant believe ford could put out something so beautiful. hehe But in all honesty it is a gorgeous ride. I love the fact that it rolls on 365/ rear tires!

Factory Tire fitment on the rear is the Goodyear F1 Supercar tire in a 315/40-19 rear. These tires were certified on the Nardo, Italy test car by Mark McGowan at 205 MPH. I was fortunate to share a dinner with McGowan and his wife last month.
Some of the owners have found the factory tire fitment too hard, and gone to a softer tire for more grip, which is definitely helpful. The hard core have taken to hand grooving Hoosier race tires, but if it rains, it could be a handful on the street.
Shortly after 6,500 miles, I replaced my worn factory tires, and went with the Bridgestone RE050A Scuderia tire in 345/35-19 on the rear. I believe this is the exact same tire and size that is used on the Ferrari Enzo. I have found it to definitely ride better, quieter, and smoother, and provide slightly better grip as compared to the original Goodyear tire. I retained the factory BBS upgraded wheel, which is a forged wheel. I also wanted to maintain an overall wheel/tire diameter similar to stock.

Thanks Laidback, Agent31, Am3n, MarqE46, for the positive comments. It has been an amazing experience to own and drive this car. Truly exceeding all my expectations and dreams. Roush and Saleen had strong roles in the niche manufacturing and assembly of the Ford GT, and I have been impressed with the quality and design.
Here is a pic of the set of Bridgestones as they were awaiting install and balancing. I wanted to share it, because I think it is interesting to see the dimensional differences between front and rear tires.

WoW two really small and two wide/ huge in the back for more grip! I wonder if you thought of using R comps or something close, would that help or stock tires are better... can give us mere mortals :D on your personal experience driving the Ford GT?

I think the way the tire rack is holding the tires probably exaggerates the size differential a little, as they are probably resting between two rods, as opposed to on a flat surface.
For the most part, the general consensus is that the only thing the stock tires are good for, is that they wear a long time relatively. Which means maybe 6,000 - 8,000 miles instead of 5,000 miles. Otherwise they are hard and grab like bricks. Another good thing is they are certified at top speed. I've already swapped to other tires, the Scuderias for the rear and Porsche Cup Tires for the fronts.
As far as personal experience, it's really quite difficult to put in words. To this day, each time I get in the car, it still gets my blood pumping. It was the first car that I felt I would really be okay giving up motorcycles for, and having two small children now, I made the personal decision to move from motorcycles to cars. Definitely not saying anyone should feel the need to do that, I love motorcycles and always will.
The GT has latch and airbag deactivation so I'm able to share the experience with my children, which would have been difficult or dangerous to do with a motorcycle. I can take my kid and car to a car show if I want, something I couldn't do with a motorcycle. Or go to rallies or events.

Seriously Jo, side impact protection, and the most comfortable padding. This is one solid seat. You can tell when you lift this thing it's not a cheap Costco type seat. This would make a great lounge chair in adult size.
Glad you are enjoying yours too. Not cheap, but well worth the price in peace of mind. :)

Found a reasonably priced Ford GT today in Orange, so I picked it up.
The included slow charger is taking 6 hours, so I haven't had a chance to run her yet...But she'll be ready at 4 am...
