SMGers' M5 shift knob, **yay or nay**

I love the way the smg knob looks on the new M5! Although I would like to see one in person in an M3 before I take the plunge, as I know the DIY on the electrical is a little though...How many of you guys have this piece in your M3?

What is your guys opinions on this, is it a legit piece, or would you guys rather leave the stock knob instead? Just curious...

I have it. it is a very very nice interior mod, you can get them from europeanautosource (EAS), they have them in CF too, except they are a lot more $$$ pricey in cf rather than the standard finish. i think like $400+ in carbon fiber. EAS is in orange county and should have them in shock....

oh and it looks like the pics the OP posted has the chrome ring that rests on top of the SMG dome has been very LIGHTLY sanded down to give it the brushed aluminum color, i'll try to post some pics of mine when i get home.

I don't think it can, but somehow they can lay actual CF on it but probably because they can overlay that, put some resin, and make it nice and shiny. I'm sure you can lay the CF look fabric, but you'd have to pay great attention to detail. Using the exacto knife with this fabric is a pain in the ass.
