Well...I've always loved the e36 m3 since I was in HS. Back then it was considered to be fast and to this day it's still one of the best handling cars on the road. I was able to find one in the price range I was looking for and picked it up. I love it and have no regrets. My first mod will be a UUC SSK and then H&R Sport Springs and Koni Shocks.

i saw a 1992 325is in some random pic somewhere and then i went on a spree looking for more info online and found out they had 328's 330's etc and decided i liked the E36 body style with the 4 doors, then i learned about the car they called the M3 and decided i wanted one of those.

Found out they only made them in 4 door for 2 years and so my search began in January of 2006. Then on June 4th 2006 (my birthday) I logged onto craigslist as this was a daily routine.... and finally found a manual Estoril 4 door M3. Went too look at it a few days later and ended up buying it June 6th 2006... dunno what taht means lmao. uh oh.

I remember when the E36 M3 was considered one of the best handling sports cars at any price.

I think the E36 was really the one that brought ///M to the forefront. No doubt, the e30 is one bada$$ car, but the more mainstream focus of the e36 brought ///Motorsports recognition far and wide.

I can't disagree with that... :thumbsup2:

Especially that the E30 M3 is one badass car. If I had the cash and time to have both M3's I would. What would be awesome is makin' the E36 ///M the dedicated track car and the E30 the daily or garage queen. Funny how the newer car of the two would be the one to take the abuse and not the older... The E30 ///M just has a different swagger than the E36. The E36 just screams A.D.D. kid...

A.D.D. for real! haha, I remember when these came out I thought BMW in general was just way out of my league! This is the body style that made me fall in love with BMW though in the first place!

I bought mine because my friend let me drive his, almost every day for a week. Then going back to a stock suspension e30 makes it pretty lame.

I at first was driving an 99' Hayundai Tiburon (FTL) and was going to ITT-tech where i met my friend Adil. he and i became friends and the first time i went over to his house he right away too me to his garage and un-vailed this baby. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm281/SpeedDeamon96M3/adilsm3.jpg
It didnt take much for me to start getting an interest in the M's i in the past had driven my sisters 330i that she had leased and loved it and subconsciously always told myself that i was going to get a BMW of some kind just always thought they were way out of my price range and way to high of maintenance.
to make a long story shorter i started looking for M3's E36 or an E30 and found this hellrot 96 M3 for only 8K on auto trader i just knew that i had to go take a look at it. a few days later adil and i went there and it was pretty much love at first site. we took it out for a test drive, went sideways right away, i way under-estimated the power she had for over 180K miles. we got onto the highway and before i knew it i was screaming at 120mph and had no idea till i looked at the console. we got back to the dealer and drove another with fewer miles on it and i just didnt like it as much as the hellrot one. so i got on the phone with my bank to see what i could get for a used car loan they said $9K the car was as good as mine. we managed to talk the dealership down to $7K somehow and i Just knew there had to be something wrong with it in the back of my mind so i talked them into taking it to my mechanic before i would buy it (black mountain European the best guy for BMW's & VW's IMO) and he said everything was good to go except the oil pan gasket (no big deal). so we did some paperwork and i took her home a few days later.

about a month after buying her the clutch went out and she spent almost 6 months sitting either on base (when i was in the NAVY) or in front of the house my fiance and i were staying at at the time.
all is pretty much great with her now and i am very happy i got the M3 and dont regret it at all.
