Hey guys,

I had installed the HID halos with the GREAT help with SARD last weekend. Havent had a chance to post up pics but i knew that i had to get 6K low beams to match my 8K HID HALOS from camaross. And yes the kit was a PITA to install(halo hid kit). The bulb wouldnt go in for the life of us, so we cut away some of tabs. From then on, it was easier. Phew.

I know that we've all seen the HID HALO pics so i wont post many of those by themselves.

Just two pics of the halos:

I called Dave at VIPstatus in Torrance and asked him about 6k low beam bulbs. I had been trying to decide between Mtecs, Piaas, Osram and Philips. I read on the E90 posts that some people have had wierd experiences with Mtecs. So i was eerie about them. As for Piaa, well, they are just too damn expensive. Osram and Phillips, well, they are double the price of the Mtecs or this other brand. Dave had told me that he's had good experiences with his friend's HID bulbs and kits and that they had a 1 year warranty on em. I bought them for $130.

Here's Dave getting his hands dirty for my car. Great guy helping me pull the wheel off, the fenderliner and then installing the bulbs(This pic is him putting back the wheel with SofTorq's CF wheel hanger(which is used to align the holes on the wheel to the hub):

HID 8k halos with 6k low beam(yes the halos look a little green in this photo but it is not green in person):

The 8k Halos are WHITE WHITE with a slight tint of blue. I totally thought it was going to be more blue in my experience but camaronss said it was going to be okay so i trusted him and it turned out to be the way i wanted it to be.

Thanks to camaross for his HID KIT! I am really enjoying it. I can light up 25% of the road with just the HALOs on at night.

Thanks to Dave at VIPstatus for getting the bulbs and his hands dirty and installing the bulbs with me! :)

Nice I love how the E9x cars can just be changed by replacing a bulb and not having to mess with halo rings/ballasts etc..

The HID AE and HID upgrades look nice...

I'm waiting on the LUX E92 to be developed before I decide to either send my headlights to Miami to Otherside for the E46 LED AE retrofit or to get the AiB from EAS

Did they install a HID kit or just a replacement bulb? If they did a HID did any errors on the dash appear??

hmmm, maybe we should call the look THE DAVE.

Its a whole HID kit. Bought it from a forum member named camaross305 on m3post.com. He got a electronic box built so that there would be no errors on the dash! I am ERROR FREE! :)

Oh yea? I am doing a comparison between AiB and my HID AEs 2morrow at EAS. I will post my results. Is the LUX going to be really good? When is it suppose to be developed?

Inside the EAS shop:

AiB:

6k:

8k:
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i86/g35lin/M3_LIN/AiB%20vs%20HID%20AE/DSC_8832.jpg

My thoughts? Well, the AiB is a great product. The packaging and install looks very good and easy to install. However, IMO, its not bright enough for ME PERSONALLY. I do think that AiB's uniformity is great, but like everyone else, i would like it to be BRIGHTER. So, at the end of the day, I am very happy with my HIDs AEs from Camaronss305. I just did this to give you a comparison. At the end of the day, its what YOU want. :)

Thanks to Tom for giving us the opportunity to compare and contrast. I know that ALOT of the venders out there would not even give anyone this chance to compare THEIR product with another competing product. So Big Props to Tom for stepping up the plate and let us do this comparison! :) Thanks again Tom! Good meeting you Brandon.
