So... someone just failed inspection. Hard. I need new rear shocks and springs as both shock mounts are cracked pretty bad, and one spring is cracked as well. I also need a new PS pump and rack... I think if I'm going to uselessly dump money into this again, I'm going to do the Dinan Stage 1 Suspension System for the springs/shocks. But what about the steering rack, is that hard to do, anyone know a site to look to for help? Maybe it's time to buy a Bentley manual... or a new car..... Thanks guys.

Thanks! So, evidently the engine has to be raised up over an inch. Fantastic- I don't have a hoist, and I'm not sure if I want to try to jack it like I've seen recommended on some sites. Off to the crappy dealer it is I suppose.

Side note though, ordered the Dinan suspension kit yesterday, they say they'll be 3 or 4 weeks out :( but regardless, I'm excited for that.

Thanks for the direction.

I'll gladly post pics of the suspension, but as for the steering, evidently there's nothing wrong with it... I got my new rack in, and realized, I'm missing no steering fluid and the rack is NOT cracked. The problem is actually two crush washers on an oil line are bad and it's just leaking oil. Now I know where to never ever take a car for work or inspection again. How do you mistake a cracked steering rack and leaking PS fluid for a bad washer and leaking oil...?

As of right now though, the Dinan parts are like 2 weeks out still, but soon I hope- I'm excited!

If anyone's interested, I'm changing my tranny fluid too because my car red-lines before it shifts more frequently than I'd like. I can post pics of that too because I can promise lifetime fluid won't last a lifetime, and it isn't hard to change- not worth paying a dealer if you don't have to?
