I'm contemplating putting an aftermarket HD In it. I'm definitely upgrading my RAM from a third party; Apple is too expensive.

Yea, the Macbooks are great for how much they're being offered at. I can't do a 13" screen though, very tough with photo/video editing, especially coming from a 15" screen on my Powerbook.

Yep! 1.33ghz. It's been great over the past few years, besides having replaced the screen (my fault) and my failed HD a few times.

I definitely will. The new MBP is going to be worlds of difference from my powerbook. I think it's about time you upgrade as well, Chris. :D

although I have a quad core extreme setup, + 8gigs of ram and over 4 terabytes of HD's with 2 23" screens and 2 19" screens, it is a nice setup.

I want to switch to a Octocore Mac, saving up, and now with the new MBPros out, I may upgrade my laptop first....

It says between October 20-24. Apple is much more generous then this on shipping times most of the time so I'm hoping it will come sooner. I did a BTO so it's taking a bit longer than the default specs. I'll take lots of pictures when I get it.

The glossy displays look great. It's just hard to predict what the images look like to others (on their non-glossy) displays. But I think you'll like it.

Well depends what you're coming from; regardless I say do it :D It was a nice upgrade for me from 5 year old Powerbook G4.
