I've heard that BMW Corporate might re-allocate M3 production/supply to more profitable markets than the US. Plus they are redesigning it for 2009, first time I think they touched an M midstream, but I could be wrong. So, maybe they are truly just trying to clear out 2008 inventory. I can't see it getting much better than 0.9% financing. Of course, the only thing remaining is straight price discounts...Time will tell. But this seems like a fairly tempting deal.

Wow BMW is really pushing their stuff out, redesigning the M3 midstream is really surprising if it really happens...there will be a dinner with some of the BMW NA guys and i'll ask them about this and maybe they can enlighten us on what BMW will bring in 09'...I've heard that BMW Corporate might re-allocate M3 production/supply to more profitable markets than the US. "redesign" is far too strong a word, I mean they are making some interior and exterior changes, nothing major, but there are some changes, as I understand it. See what you can find out. I will see if I can find anything additional.

Here's what I found:
"2009 Update
For the 2009 model year, BMW revised its M3 sedan -- after just one year on the market. Most notable is the change to the rear taillight design, featuring a 'notched' design and drastically smaller reverse lights.
Other changes include the addition of the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with Drivelogic, plus a revised center console, active head restraints for whiplash protection, and a selection of new exterior colors."

Was at Crevier BMW tonight... they have plenty of M3 coupes and sedans there. Go see Kevin Garand there... $500 over invoice on any M3 sedan...
0.9%... $500 over invoice on ANY M3 sedan... simply amazing... tell him you saw it on the MFEST forums... he'll know...

Hey Dave,
I dropped by Crevier at lunch to blow off some steam. Seems they have a ton of manual M3's in all configurations, but the M-DCT is hard to come by.
Did Kevin Garand indicate that he would give BOTH 0.9% and $500 over invoice on an M3 Sedan? Wow. That is hard to pass up...
Are you thinking about getting one? I want to, but the timing is not right for me. It's been truly awful with the real estate and financial markets for everyone.
Zeddy4Me
10-16-2008, 11:17 PM
Yeah, actually been to several dealers everyday this week... Yes to answer your first question... .9% and $500 over invoice. There are NO DCT's around town...only on several coupes...
Did you talk to Kevin? Cool guy...
I've actually narrowed mine down to 2 coupes, DCT. Space gray or Jet black...
Awesome deals, but even better on sedans/6 speed...
Pick your poision!! hahaha
Yeah, I feel you bro... real estate market aint' so hot right now, commercial is a bit better I think, but lending has been VERY tight, although with the Feds infusing $$ into banks for credit to be given out, still pretty tight...
I just helped my sister and a good friend pick up a 750i and and X5 tonight... several more deals I am helping out with. Let me know, have awesome deals at Shelly BMW too!!:)

6 Speed Sedan would be a sweet ride...
I haven't talked to Kevin yet. I talked with Judy Ray, we bought our X5 from her at Crevier, a real enthusiast, she's a driving instructor.
She did a locate and there is only one M3 Sedan with DCT in California right now it appears.
Thanks for the info! I hope I can do something with it, but I'll probably miss this round.

It's definitely a good point Nem3ses, and I think a legitimate reason. Two different cars, but the e60 M5 seems like a really good buy on the used market.
The 3 series has always been a favorite, since they are smaller and lighter, I get a stronger sense of the road and feedback. Handling nirvana.
But the M5 tends to be a lot more practical...And who can deny the beast of an engine in the M5.
I've often bought used and prefer to do so, find a car in perfect condition, and have someone else take the depreciation hit. Plus you get more car for the money when you compare 2-3 years old versus new. Although you can miss out on technology and developments.
Nothing like a brand new car though, when you want to treat yourself.

Don't be suprised if I'm in a E90 M3 sedan very soon...decided to sell the E46 M3 vert & my Hemi Rubicon Wrangler to consolidate cars because a sedan for me is more practical with Emma now.
I'm actually in Scottsdale, AZ right now & will be for at least 2 weeks & have been to N. Scottsdale BMW. That is where I've bought all my BMWs from other than the X5. They have told me that I will be not be paying over MSRP if I decide to get the M3 Sedan. I can find out if they will do that for friends I refer to them! That M3 Sedan with DCT is probably the one at Sterling BMW...Jerez Black with Bambo Brown interior

Couldn't have put it better myself, I just refuse to take depreciation hits! I mean I know eventually all will depreciate but that instant fall in those first few years is something I'd rather avoid..
As far as brand new...maybe when I make enough money that I don't care the price...even then It will bother me lol... no matter how much money I make Ill always be a bargain shopper...

You better pay under MSRP for an M3 Sedan. See Zeddy's posts in this thread.
Hmmm...Crevier BMW didn't mention Sterling's M3 Sedan with DCT, I watched her do the locate. Maybe it slipped under the radar. The one located was a Sparkling Graphite Metallic, no packages, so MSRP was $63,875 with destination charge and gas guzzler tax. I didn't bother to negotiate, since I am not ready to make the purchase.
I'm considering consolidating my LR3 and Dinan Mini Cooper S into the sedan. But I don't think I can do it just now, plus the LR3 is great for work.

The M DCT Sedan that Crevier located was a "northern CA BMW dealer" they didn't tell me more than that and I have a printout but no dealer codes or anything.
It had beige interior. Options NDH3 (extended leather), 223 (Electronic Damping Control), 2MK (M DCT), 2MT (19inch), 4MZ (Anthracite Wood Trim)

so i walked out he door with a 08 sedan white with red interior (which was also impossible to find) and since i'm an existing bmw financial customer, they waived security deposit(on a lease) and i'm paying 755 per month with 1350 down...it was a deal i couldn't pass up, i go trough cars pretty quick so i lease often...by the way its a 6 speed and sticker price was $66,000

Yup, those people that have the cash and cajones to dive in now, in the right companies, should quite possibly be very pleased 3-5 years from now...
If I had any extra disposable cash now, though, I'd likely be first financing an M3 Sedan with $0 down and getting the 0.9% for as long as the program would allow...
