So what setting do you run on?
I have used setting 4 only cause the previous owner had put it there, I haven't found a need to change it.
Why would ANYONe change it? benefits/cons?
what do you drive at?

For day to day driving I like the responsiveness of S5, but the smoothness of S3. So I often go back and forht between the two. If I have passengers in the car and we're just going from A to B it will most likely be S3, but if they want to haul some a$$, I'll go to S5.
The difference between the shifting programs is how the hydrolic systems actuates the clutch. The higher the number the quicker the clutch is actuated.
I also take the 405 to work everyday, so when I get tired of shifting or I want to drink my coffee it is A3 all the way!

Well, of course there is... :D
I have always gotten better MPG on lower shift programs. Also, you can feel the differences in the gear changes between different gears. A smoother gear change is going to be less wear and tear on the clutch.

i recommend S5/S6 for freeway as you would want the quickness and responsive shifts to get through in and out of traffic. i use S4 on the street so it is moderately fast.
but whatever suits you i guess. i use those settings because they still feel slow to me. it could be that my clutch is wearing out though. :(

Heres what I do:
When it's a cold start and I can't wait for the car to heat up all the way I run it in S2 or S3. Around my small town there's a stop sign on every street so I usually run in S3. But when I get out of town and I'm on the hwy I always run on S5 with sport mode on...I find that when you use this method you keep the bucking beast at bay lol

I always have sport mode on....S5/6 is a lot, i mean a lot more aggressive on your clutch, keep regular highway on S5, for highway FUN S6 DSC 0FF, and for regular driving around S3/4
