I picked up a new macro filter just before the Kirkland Concourse last month in the Seattle area...here are a few shots I took...

Really cool. What is that analog Ferrari gauge measuring? Engine temp?

I wish I knew what that is. I am guessing it is oil pressure.

I'll see if either my mechanically inclined, or italian descended friends can figure it out.

My italian bella friend says "Olio" is oil and it appears to be the oil temperature. Because termometro is thermometer.
My doc says: i'm guessing oil. i think olio is oil in italian.
My mechanic buddy says: Range is 30 to 150 (probably in degrees Celcius) for OLIO or oil.
Engine oil temp.

Cool, thank you. I am using this pic as the wallpaper on the owners AMX touch screen for his home theater as a surprise. I will look better if I know what I am talking about.
Here are some shots of his screen...it will be presented to him in 2 weeks. Do you think he will like it?

It's a very nice shot. The depth of field is perfect, and the tight crop is seductive. Just enough to make you curious. Well done.

It is kind of a strange combo...
Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR w/
Canon 500D Close Up lens

Wow, with a zoom range like that - I would imagine you would have to get pretty far back, but I guess that is the whole point of the filter - to allow close focal distance, is that correct?
I won a 50mm 2.5 macro in a contest and used that for years, then sold it, and went with the Canon 100mm macro, which has been an excellent choice for macro. But I probably should have kept the 50mm macro as well...

That is the idea. You get very close and the dof is super shallow. It is a very cool combo. I want a Nikon 105 VR Macro too.

Awesome! Also check out reverse lens macro. I've read a bit about it but have never tried it yet. Very soon though.
