Fundraiser for Flood Victims of Typhoon Ondoy in the Philippines [Archive]

As many of you know already, and the media has circulated, Typhoon Ondoy has submerge major parts of the Philippines. At this point, estimates from varying sources are 140 people have been killed, several thousand are still missing and hundreds of thousands have been displaced. News reports state that this is the worst rainfall the country has seen in 40 years. The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that Ondoy's total rainfall was 410mm, while Hurricane Katrina's was 380mm in New Orleans. Lack of an early warning system, and the low-levels of governmental support and action, are all issues that Americans can relate too.

In efforts to help, I have organized a fundraiser - in conjunction with BJ's and the American Red Cross - to help raise money.

Each supporter who brings in a BJ’s custom flyer will have 15% of the amount of
their meal check (pre-tax & no alcohol) donated directly to American Red Cross towards relief to flood victims in the Philippines.

they could not reserve me a section for all of us since ppl will be arriving anytime from 5pm on.

they take reservations for 10 or more, so feel free to give them a call to make your reservations @ 562-231-0820. i have a table reserved for 10 at 5:30pm for the early crew.

Whether you make a reservation or walk in, pls tell them you're there for the fundraiser and they will try and sit us all in the same area.

On a lighter note and jmho, the weather guys in PI should start naming typhoons a little bit more fierce or what not, like "get the F out here this will be big" instead of naming it some weird name Ondoy :lolhit:

thanks! i just wanted to get flyers out to cars and locals to they're aware of what we're doing, hopefully get some locals to come in to support the cause.
