first half was 70-200 2.8, then i used the 135mm....

135mm, by far is my sharpest lens! FTW!

Hey Kuya John!

Just wondering if that first shot was shot in a high ISO or if the noise in the bg was from post work? It was shot with the 70-200 right? JW because I want to look for a good telephoto that's also good in low light. Right now...it's either the 70-200 L IS or the 100-400 L...

But bleh..so much money -____-

C - first shot was at f/2.8 and ISO1000. i'm kinda confused as to your question 'bout the noise. yes, you will get "some" noise shooting at ISO1000...but it's not something you get from post work. are you referring to the bokeh (blurring of the background)? like this pic. yes, that particular shot was taken with the 70-200 2.8. and this is the "standard" mid range telephoto and at 2.8, works great in low light situation. but if you want to get a good lens i low light, go with a prime...either 50, 85 or 135.

Other than getting showered with rubber debris from the tires, almost getting hit by a shattered CF front bumper and dodging plastic barriers...it was a good day! Time to clean my sensor for Day 2....stay tuned.

Hope you don't take this wrong karnal but your photos are way over processed. I havent read much about your post process routine but it looks like heavy Lightroom. Try to ease up on processing and you'll have some really great snaps.
those are HDR photos, that the client requested. HDR isn't for everyone.

since you seem to post processing expert, do you have some of your work you can share so i can better my post? any example of your own personal work would be appreciated.

I have been watching from the outside and I think it's about that time I stepped in and made it very clear our stance here at MFEST.

We built this board to be different from every other board out there in the sense that everyone has a difference sense of camaraderie here then any other board out there. That's why I joined on and try to make it the best board out there little by little. I was personally tired of the ego's, tirades and rude behaviors on other boards.

No getting to the bottom of this. We don't say that you can't have an opinion or dislike something, but the way one goes about it makes a big difference. We are all allowed to have differences and not like something but we want to keep the respect level of the board really high and how we talk to one another is a big key. I don't want to sound all sappy and say that everyone must get a long but respect needs to be there no matter what.

Disagree all you want but do it in a political and just manner. How things are said can clearly change the tone of the argument.

I could tell a girl "damn your fat" or I can tell her "wanna work out sometime"

See how much a difference that is?

So lets squash this little argument or I'm gonna kill this thread. This is not what we are about and we don't need it on the board.

Canikickit? - I have contacted you via PM but you did not respond, but I have been watching the posts and threads that have been started and they are a bit out there so could you please tone it down and lets keep the board somewhere we all come to enjoy and meet new people.

Guys...let it be squashed. No one needs to continue to fuel the fire. I have discussed the issue with both parties and they are going to leave it at that. So no one needs to continue bashing anyone else. It's kind of counter productive.

As far as banning the guy, there is nothing that he has done to this point that deserves a ban. I have spoken to him as well as John about the situation and if something comes out where I feel a ban of anyone is necessary I will do it.

At this stage there is nothing to continue so lets leave this argument die. I am also going to clean up the thread getting rid of any stupid posts.

I hope everyone can understand where I cam coming from.

Just got back from Vegas (prep for Mfest IV) and read thru the posts, Canikickit? had positive reviews but some borderline post... Canikickit? just needs to warm on Mfestforum.com as this is not your typical forum...I find alot of humor on some of your post but some are a bit strong, tone it down but if we get continued complaints then we'll take it to the next step...

If you look at post number 37 he does a great job of using it in it's most subtle form and his regular photography is good too but he needs to relax on pushin' the photos too much. The guy can be really good if he wasn't so defensive and I can only assume that he just picked up the hobby seriously within the past two years because his attitude is a common mistake from garage photographers.

there are a few ways to do HDR... John shoots in RAW and adjusts the exposure via photoshop...

some cameras have a setting in which you can take three photo's all with different exposures from under exposed, over-exposed then medium exposure. and you can paste all of them together using photomatix.

thanks Randy! since i picked up the camera again, i made it my goal to shoot NBA. it's a great feeling to be able to achieve a goal to set for youreslf.

my next goal is to shoot for Playboy! :D

i'm no expert either, but if you're speaking of the Range Rover....yes, they're in HDR composed of 3 images. all the NBA images are single, non HDR images.

nah, i only shoot true HDR with several differently exposed images. so with that said, it would be hard to do that with a moving object.

john do you do stuff for the Clippers? i have noticed a lot of pics of the team. Our marketing team here at the Chumash Casino just signed some sort of deal with them. couple guys have gone to some games, if i go are you there every game?

i shoot for a local paper and i've hand picked a handful of Clipper games to shoot. i'll be at the upcoming DAL and LAL games. let me know if you'll be there.

well i will talk to Lori who is are booking agent. A lot of the acts put stuff in their contracts that dont allow photographs. but i will talk to Lori on Thursday ok. She owns Signature entertainment with Dick Clark. She does all our acts at the casino.
