View Full Version : i figured out why my ESS kit never hit 500whp

this is from the owner of ESS after i said his claimed WHP numbers were BS.

We can not take responsability for all the 19yr old, think they know it all, home at moms garage mechanics out there, but installed properly by good technicians and verified to be sealed and making the correct boost (7PSI at RPM limit) the kit will make at least 550chp on a properly working S62.

class act

lets see
vacuum tested system-check
ran all necessary tests on gt1-check
videoed boost hitting 7psi on the dyno-check

but yet i barely hit 450whp with Supersprint system...

:spank:

and if my e39 m5 knowledge is questionable, then view the following thread

ESS is trying to tell me i cant install their blowerkit which consists of maybe 10 parts, but i can install an engine? riiiight

Usually, it -5 % to +5% for margin of error... but 100 is just... speechless...

They said 550chp? 450whp equates to about that right?

450WHP with supersprint. as most will tell you, supersprint adds nearly 20-30WHP.

Have you tried to dyno it with a stock exhaust? Im not trying to take the air out of your ball but im just curious...

451 hp X 15% drive train loss is = 67.65

451+67.65 = 518 hp

is this on 91 octane and what mods?

thats on a dynojet

and the only significant mod would be the SS headers, straight pipes, and X pipe. which would only increase power, not decrease. you can subtract the 20-30whp from the headers and you see why i was pissed, and it was 93octane.

 dang!... how many pulls did you do and were is the median hp number you hit? 425 rwhp on 93? sorry for the questions but Im just curious and wnt to find out if theres a leak somewhere or any fault on the install (but looking at your build/ swap on the S2 motor, you've proven you can install that kit) are you the only one who hit this number? or others have had lower numbers aswell?

Wanna see if Blockdoc ( local) has some dyno numbers aswell

noway there could be a leak, i pressure tested everything to 10psi and the pressure was there. i even smoke tested everything and no smoke leaked out.

i had 3 pulls, i think 425, 440 and 452 all in the same day.

others have had low numbers as well, but they are in "denial" to say the least and blame it on uncontrollable factors. one guy hit 512whp, but his predyno number on a stock car was 360 which you and i both know is not going to happen.

he kept saying it was because it was 85 outside, but realistically it was more like 75 because i checked the temp manually before i dynod.

he just continued with the excuses and i checked all the stuff there could be.

i havent seen anyone who has 330whp on their m5 hit his claimed 450whp-500whp numbers. but he keeps insisting delta gains should be 120whp, but yet their advertisement clearly shows a 170whp...which imo is some serious bull****.

Sad to hear that bradah...hope they correct it and i can just imagine when you dyno at 91 octane (California) how much power it'll have...
