Hey guys,

I went to see Alex at Gintani last week before the new years to get a baseline dyno. I totally forgot i had the Macht Schnell Filter until i was driving home. So the car is NOT stock. It has the M&S filter.

Results: 310wHP and 225wTQ. Average i guess. or semi low. :( oh wellz.

After Three Runs:

End result(4th run was the highest): Highest TQ and HP run:

Ran a total of 5 runs. The fifth run, it was losing power. Whatcha guys think? Low? Avg? High?(doubtful)

Gonna do a dyno after i get all the ENVY pieces from Tecnocraft. See if it makes HP!!!!

Thanks again to Alex at GINTANI. Arnold and Josh were great people to talk with. Friendly and knowledgeable.

Iiirc BMW motors have different hp rating 10% higher or less...try checking your car and also switch to 19 inch wheels...

will switching to 18" wheels or maybe just switch the rear wheels to 18", make more power?

not on a dyno dynamics dyno, because it is load bearing.... if it was a dynojet or mustang then yes it would because its an inertia dyno (how fast you spin the drum matters).... I believe it is close to average numbers on a DD dyno

^how about the gear? Is the outcome the same for a dyno pull from 4th gear vs 5th gear?

iirc... it will make a slight difference but not a huge one. When i did my dyno's we did 5th gear pulls but i will request only 4th gear pulls from now on cause 170+mph on a dyno kinda scares me hahaha

5th should make more since it's a perfect 1:1 ratio... or so i've been told :D

best advice, dyno=b.s :)

so true! but it is also nice to see where or what the car is making as a guideline.

What i think David trying say is saying is to not live on the dyno numbers...do a pull right next to another M3 who dyno's higher and do a comparo like that aswell...

I like doing a dyno testing (bone stock and with mods) and do pulls right next to a stronger car that dyno'd higher and see where your at...

confused hrm?

I think u mean 4th gear, Alex dynos the cars in 4th gear not 5th. And dont worry Gintanis dd dyno reads low, 310whp is about average for stock.

yeah, probably cause he wouldn't want a car going 180mph on his dyno lol... most places do a 4th gear pull for safety purposes...

here are the gear ratio's for the 6mt E92M3

Final Drive 3.64:1

1st Gear Ratio 4.23:1
2nd Gear Ratio 2.53:1
3rd Gear Ratio 1.67:1
4th Gear Ratio 1.23:1
5th Gear Ratio 1.00:1
6th Gear Ratio 0.83:1

red line is 8,400 rpm as you guys know.

so yeah... technically 5th gear would be the "correct gear" to dyno in for accuracy but, like i stated above, not many dyno shops will do a 5th gear pull. personally, i did my car in 5th gear and all it told me was my car reads 175 but i'm really going about 165mph :lolhit:
