What suspension mods have you done or would like to do to make your E39 perform better?

I've installed H&R springs, Bilstein HD's, an M5 rear sway bar, and some sticky toyo t1r tires.

My car handles great! Very neutral...and some would even say nimble :D

My problem is grip. I feel that the car should not reach it's adhesion limits so easily...that's not to say that it loses traction easily..it's just that I'd like more grip :D

I feel the problem lies in my lack of tread width. I will likely be going to either a 255 or 265 tire width at all 4 corners soon in exchange for my 235 widths now. I feel this will take my lil 528i to yet another level of tankart* goodness!

* I call my car a tankart because it's solid and heavy like a tank, but handles like a kart when I push her to the limit :D

Yeah, more rubber will make a huge difference in your car. IMO, I'd go with 255's. How stiff is the ride with your H&R setup? With Dinan springs in the same car (M3) I found Bilsteins to be a little harsher-riding than the equivalent Konis.

My ride is actually quite nice...I can drive grandma around without any odd comments as long as I drive like a sane person :D

I believe the HD's have quite a bit to do with the ride....sports would be killer.

just switched off my 20 inch DPEs to a smaller 19 inch Linea Corse Lemans setup...with the toyo t1rs 245/35/19 and 275/30/19s, it feels more in sync with my KW V2's...the 20s made me feel not so agile...felt like i was in a tank...with these 19s, i feel more at ease =)...maybe its also because the t1rs has better traction than the kumhos on the 20s...

after SEMA, i should install my front and rear swaybars made by Eibach...hopefully, a huge imporvement will be had!
