New head gasket questions

Hey guys. I found a 97 AW M3 sedan that i really like on craigslist. The only problem is that it needs a new head gasket. Before i call the guy about it i figure i should know what i gettin into. Can anyone tell me how expensive that might be to replace and any other things i would need to know? Thanks!

Looks clean. Bad head gasket prob means it's been beat its entire life or just not properly maintained. Look for drivetrain problems. Headgaskets are a simple fix for the DIY'er but it appears as though only maybe less than 10% of bimmer owners are wrench turners. It'd be a singles day work, couple of hours if you have the right tools and are mechanically inclined.
