Now that i'll be getting my suspension soon and my brakes all taken care of, it is time to start thinking of wheels to put on my 97M3 Sedan...
I've seen many, but feel like the BBS LM look wheels, CSL type wheels are played out. Don't get me wrong, they look great, but too many out there I think.
So my question is, what type of wheels would you like to see on an E36?
I'm favoring some SSR SP1's, but am open to suggestions
Also, take in mind i'm not ballin and a set of Forgeline,HRE,Kinesis,Fikse wheels are just way out of my league for now

If you think the CSL's are played out...what do you call the LM's? :D
IMO, It's what you like and can afford. Who care's if everyone has them or thinks. If you like it and it's w/in your budget, I say pull the trigger. Check out euro-spec's new LM rep wheels soon to be released end of April. Very resonably priced around $900.
If you want something of a forged 3pc wheels then be ready to spend in the $2k up range.
What's your wheel budget btw?

So I think I finally made a decision on which wheels to purchase, here they are :excited:
They are D-Force ltw5 wheels and most of the E36 owners out there run 17x9 or 18x9, but some are running 18x10 wheels with 245/40/18 or 265/40/18 all around and in some cases they run 285/40/18 out back like the white car has. Those are serious meats on the E36 and tons of grip i'm sure. :drive2:
The 18x10 wheels come in weighing in at 19lbs (300$) and the 17x9 at 16lbs (250$) :woohoo:
I know I know, they aren't the most flashy wheel out on the market, but are seriously light weight, strong and track proven. UUC, Bimmerworld and Turner run them on their cars.
I know I wont have many fans of them out on the forums, but i'm looking for function, weight, and $$ aspects. Although, some of these E36's posted look pretty mean to me with them on.
Thoughts anyone?

I hope not to bother anybody by using these images if they are indeed of your vehicle and were only using them to display a perfect example of what a beautiful executed track E36 looks like. I will gladly take them down if requested to do so. :secret:

Those are some pretty sick wheels!!!!
just make sure you do some reasearch on the correct size, don't quote me on this but I think if u run 255 or wider u might have to roll or pull ur fenders

If you don't find anything better than LMs, then just go LMs. Also, try similar styles to what they are putting on the new bimmers - so you stay up to date on the trends.

17" Advans get my vote :)
But then again, you can't go wrong with VMR.

Haha, what up jurrian.....
Advan's would be nice, although you can't really beat the price of the DForce wheels.
I love the VMR's you have on your ride, but think they would look ridiculous on my car. They are pretty aggressive looking wheels and are 19's. I'm sure I would get linched if I went 19's on an E36 :scared:

whats wrong with 19" okay so they ruin the wheel bearings over time.

They do not ruin the bearings over time.. Running a 30lbs+ wheel on all four corners and tracking it daily sure, but if you're running a decently lightweight wheel, and you'll be fine.

That is true "J" but i was referring to my rims that i had petrol wheels, and my car was sitting on 19" i had to change 2of my bearings cuz i had oversize wheels that were heavy.

19's are sick, but many people think and say they look overkill on an e36......I personally think if you have the right approach and the right stance, the can look great, although one thing did occur to me, after telling Kuya Chris of my plan to go with BBS CH wheels, he immediately told me I shouldn't go that route as they were too heavy. After I got home I did some research and the bradah is right and that has ultimately swayed my decision on what to look for in a wheel
I had posted about the D-Force wheels earlier and they continue to be a great choice, but I just found other wheels that come in at an incredible 18lbs ea rim. Seeing that I simply can't find myself to buy Interad or Forgeline wheels since they are too much $$$$, the Apex ARC-8 seem to have caught my eye now. At 280$ for an 18x10" wheel weighing in at 19 lbs a rim, that is a hard deal to beat.
I continue to be open to suggestions, but am unable to spend over 500$ per wheel at this time.

I've heard better things about them than the D-Force. But if you do want to D-Force ones, a buddy of mine might still have a set available that he might be selling. I forgot what size they were but its in a gun metal color.
