Wait until you guys see the NEW CHP cars! They are all white Dodge Chargers, but they have HUGE CHP lettering on the sides! No more 7 pointed star logos on the doors. They'll be sporting 4' tall blue and yellow CHP letters, at a 45 degree angle, on the rear doors flowing back to the rear quarter panels. TOTALLY stealth, with those in-cabin across the windshield red/blue LED's. No more of the two tone roofs! The only thing that you'll be able to recognize is the black front push bar that is really hard to see at night. They are also changing out those big whip VHF low band antennas for some 40" black trunk mounts. I live near Sacramento, and they always deploy the new rides from the CHP academy in West Sacramento. Saw the first one on my way to MFEST IV..... I'll try to find another one and post up some pix.

I got back home today from an amazing weekend out in Las Vegas for Mfest IV and i had to edit some of these pictures. I think i took atleast 500 pictures in a half day of shooting lol. Hope they turned out ok to you guys let me know what you think.I will post the rest later once i edit some more

I pulled pretty hard on him on the straights... I think I had a decent amount of HP over him, but then you hit a corner and he's gone, that thing was SUPER lightweight and has got everything really set up for it... Same with all the E36 Lightweights on the track.

The 1er did really well for me, just a few seconds slower than all of them really.

The other cars I very vaguely remember, so please correct me if I'm wrong:

Gintani E90 M3: 2:10.x
Grey HPF Track car: 1:59.x
Orange HPF Track car: 2:01.x
Rune's E46 M3 Track car: 2:08.x

I think the E60 M5's that were pushing it, were running around 2:15.x 2:20.x's

I talked to Laidback to see if we can get those times on the forum :D

yeah, everyone actually had very cometitive times. I was very impressed with the Mfest track guys. My car (gintani e90 M3) did manage a 201 with Billy johnson driving it. He only did like 3 laps with it too. Did some nice drifting on the back turns, that guy is an awesome driver. I also had him go out with me a few laps in the beginning to give me some pointers. I take full advantage of any one willing to help me become a better driver :D

Oh they were full slick race tires. Dunno what kind of race tires, but probably Hoosier A6 or R6's... Something along those lines. HP for those cars was probably up in the 700+ range, but I couldn't tell you that, I'm not sure what they were set at and if they ran pure race gas or pump at the time.

Oscars grey HPF widebody is a stage 1 running race fuel about 600rwhp and Chris new HPF orange widebody was bumped down to a stage 3 running race fuel about 770rwhp area. :) Both i believe running hoosier tires

For track days/races, I run a test pipe to a straight pipe with a turn-down (http://thekam.com/images/cars/s2k/exhaust.jpg).
Otherwise, I have the OEM exhaust system installed. so, sorry for anyone near the front straight hearing me roaring by.

I had a great time out at the event playing with all of the Bimmers! I was in the silver 370Z running in the Speed Ventures group that was broken half the day in the pits.

I had my own laptimer... I managed to do a 208.x on street tires (Federals), not pushing too hard since I was running on 2 hours of sleep. :lolhit:

I ran a 2:13.7 in the black 135i

The other cars I very vaguely remember, so please correct me if I'm wrong:

Gintani E90 M3: 2:10.x
Grey HPF Track car: 1:59.x
Orange HPF Track car: 2:01.x
Rune's E46 M3 Stock motor Track car: 2:04.x

I think the E60 M5's that were pushing it, were running around 2:15.x 2:20.x's

I talked to Laidback to see if we can get those times on the forum :D

2.08 was the session when I was stuck behind the EVO on every lap. The guy would not let me by although I was clearly faster than him lap for lap. I had to either brake or just let my foot completely of the gas not to hit him every time we came to the last turn of the track which leads on to the front straight. Then he would pull away with his HP advantage going down the straight. Then I would spend the entire lap catching him only to get slowed down again in the most important turn of the track. That went on for about five laps before I decided to go through the pits so I could get some space in front of me. That must have really boosted his ego because he went off into the dirt at the end of the straight after I pulled into the pit lane.:rolleyes:
I was running 2.04's in the tuner session.

1- we agree to race again I that I would let you start ahead of me
2- you agree to race AND also agreed that if I was all over you, that you would
move out of the way just like you did when I passed you in your M5.
OBTW, I even had a passenger in car at the time.
3- when I came looking for you after the last session you told me, "your
brakes were not working." But I saw you let your girlfriend drive your car
the next session. So was it really your brakes????

And you got it all wrong! I WAS able to catch SPDE EVO in the corners, but NOT in the straights.;) I was right on his bumper slowing down in turn 8 and turn 13 every lap.

BTW, what "MANY EXCUSES" are you talking about? I simply stated that I was held up by another car in the session that Jurrian@EAS posted times from, and that my times were 4 sec faster in the following session with no traffic.

SPDE EVO, I love how you joined this forum just so you could talk smack on me and my car.
But since you did, I guess I'll have to reply to your comments and questions, since it seems you still don't get it.

1. I didn't know there was any "racing" going on that weekend. Aaron and his crew (Speed Ventures) run HPDE and speed trials, NOT racing. Also, Aaron always states in his mandatory drivers meetings that high horsepower cars that get caught in the turns should let the lower horsepower cars pass on the straights. It's the curtious thing to do!!!! Not sure if you attended the drivers meeting, but if you did you must have missed this. We are all there to have fun. It's no fun being stuck behind someone in the turns only for that person to use his horsepower advantage in the straights five laps in a row.

2. Of course I agreed to let you pass if you were all over my bumper. That's my point exactly.:rolleyes: Why wouldn't I? I have no problem with letting a faster car pass me, but I guess that's where you and I are different.;)
I could have pulled on you down the straight in my M5 and then blocked you from passing me the entire lap only to do it again next time we hit the front straight. I chose to let you and your friend pass me, simply because you were both going at a faster pace. Why would I mess with you and prevent you from having a clean and fun session because my car is faster than yours in a straight line?

3. Yes, it really was my brakes! I had about 2mm of pad left on my front right corner. I let my wife drive the car because she drives it at about half the speed
it's capable of. My M5 was on display at the Vorsteiner booth, so I figured I would let her roll the M3 around for a few laps since it was our only track worthy car available at that moment. I missed the last two sessions in my track car. You think I missed the two sessions on purpose because I didn't wanna get passed by you?

4. I'm happy for you that were able to post 2.03's that day. You have a great car and from our conversation it sounds like you are a good driver with plenty of real race experience. Something that I have yet to venture into.

5. What math? The math that says your car is 537lbs heavier than mine?:rofl: You obviously have engine mods and a power advantage over my car, otherwise you wouldn't pull away from a 2900lbs M3 with NO power mods.

6. I can only laugh at that comment.:D Are you suggesting that I have NOS in my car? If so, the bottle you might have seen in my car is a fire system for safety.:lolhit: My car does not have any turbo's, superchargers, NOS, cams, pulleys, chips or any other type of power mods. Stock S54 with a AFE intake and a muffler which might be good for about 5HP combined, if that.

7. Yes, I can do that! My M3 is "street legal", passes smog and is registered and insured.:raspberry:


Lastly, I simply don't get you two. You go to a BMW meet and run in the M-Fest group and not the Speed Ventures group. Pass and block a few BMW's, pad each other on the back, then go home, jump on the hosting board and talk ****.

Needless to say I'd like to see any pics of ESS-blown cars, particularly Larry's white E90 M3 VT2, my Z4 MC CFR500, the red Z4 MR VT1-445, and Robert's red E92 M3 VT2 4.6L stroked MONSTER. Video would be even better. I know how great the 4.6L VT2 sounded from the inside, but I'm curious what it sounded like on the outside.

Lol, you also didn't have the traffic I had... Jayare was in front of me slowing me down, the white Evo 10 at certain times was slowing me down, pretty much every run I had including the sponsored run, someone was slowing me down or dive bombing me in the corners... Regardless, we should hopefully see another track day soon where I can just be up front lol.

But I'm not complaining about it... I just hope we can all get on the track again soon, it was all fun :D

Lol, you also didn't have the traffic I had... Jayare was in front of me slowing me down, the white Evo 10 at certain times was slowing me down, pretty much every run I had including the sponsored run, someone was slowing me down or dive bombing me in the corners... Regardless, we should hopefully see another track day soon where I can just be up front lol.
