was reading this thread on M3forum:

when i thought to myself, why doesn't someone develope cheaper F/I solutions for our cars! Why doesn't Mfest get involved in this!? Def. not a F/I expert so my knowledge is rather limited, but maybe we can all participate/throw down some knowledge/cash/time whatever we got, and do some of our own F/I developement.... what do u guys think?

:rofl: must have been if we had someone that knew the coding for our DME's like the back of his hand then i guess it could be plausible (and he was willing to do it for close to free) but sadly not many people out there can say that :(

From the looks of it, putting a kit together isn't the hard part, it's the tuning. I wonder if you get similar hardware to a kit already in the market, and buy their software, will it work? lol

probably not as the software is usualy within very tight tolerances any change up of that can cause limp mode status. going from a tm-12 blower to say a tm-17 or going from a roots to a snail as examples just won't work. it's usually best to do the coding for the kit that's required
