Nice! I can tell you that you're gonna love the Z4MC! Since I'm going to turn my e36 into a track car, I'm actually going FROM the Z4MC to this:

This is definitely a possibility for me. I wouldn't be getting rid of both of the M3s to get it though, so don't worry. :D

Hey SunnyD... can you give me the pros and cons for the Z4MC , zeddy (who is on this forum) gave me a ride in his M coupe and the feel of the car (interior) was the main factor in deciding to go this route for my next car... i heard that VF is testing a SC for the car as well

Pros:

Looks (subjective, I know)
Relatively lightweight (for a newer BMW)
Great engine
Thick steering wheel (One of my favorite features)
Very tossable in the bends

Cons:

Blind spots galore
Interior is kinda cheap (lots of plastic)
Lacks some creature comforts (i.e vanity mirror light, auto tilt sideview mirror when in reverse, etc.)

Honestly, these are focused cars to be driven on the track. You'd be doing it and yourself an injustice if you kept it on the street. I admire BMW for building a car like this in an age when cars drive their passengers. I unfortunately (or fortunately) have an e36 m3 that I want to turn into a dedicated track car or else I'd keep mine around. Let me know if you wanna drive mine :)

What is the weight difference between your two current cars?

Did you consider keeping the Z4M and making it a track car?

Ahh, the 997 GT3, so beautiful in white. Brings out the wonderful bodywork.

Z4MC weighs in at 3295 lbs
e36 m3 weighs in at 3,170 lbs

Difference of approx 125 lbs.

Did you consider keeping the Z4M and making it a track car?

I did, but the e36 is considerably cheaper to maintain and easier to DIY (clutch, brakes, etc.) I need a more practical car to be a daily driver now and i'm looking to get an e60 m5 (hopefully gas stays this cheap) :D

syco GT should turn the mini into an all out track car... you can get it to 2,300Lbs and still be liveable (ac and radio)... get 300whp in it and almost NOTHING can keep up in the twisties when sorted with cross coil-overs... Minimal torque steer (almost none!)... best FWD platform out there, the geometry makes it work!

That would be nice, no doubt. But the MINI is serving as daily driver for the most part, and I take my kid to school in the mornings before the office. So, for now, it is staying as a well sorted, do everything car. Still under Dinan and BMW warranties also.

oh, mine is out of warranty so I might just go crazy on it right after or during school... yeah, warranty is good on the minis as they are unpredictable as some people have problems gallore and some (like me) have never encountered one! Mine is salvaged as something fell on the roof 3 months into its life, but has to frame damage! woohoo!
