I'm coming from a JB3 535i and used to use the BT Scanner Cable to clear out all CEL/shadow codes prior to going into the dealership for warranty claims (and oil changes etc).

Do the M5 guys use the BT cable and can the launch control (the full 4k rpm) be enabled through it?

If not, are the US M5 owners SOL because the cars don't come with full launch control?

I have heard of ESS and Singh has the launch control software...I'm sure they'll chime in here soon;)

Thanks, I sent an email off to Terry from BMS (cheap plug: n54tech.com) to see if the BT Scanner cable that I purchased from him will work for the M5.....and if it does, is there a settings box (inside the software on the laptop that interacts with the BMW ecu) that can be checked/unchecked to fully activate the 4k launch feature.

Will report back when he replies.

I went to the website for the cable and it's not saying either way. Going to try it out and see if I can find anything.

No, I got lazy. Will try to do it this weekend.

I got the one and only cable they make. It's normally used by the "35i" guys to clear codes before going into dealership. Tuner codes for the JB3 and so on.
