Is this quick release license plate compatible with E36 Non-M Front Bumpers?
as of right now I have a Custom Euro Plate on the front, I plan to either keep it or remove it and replace it with the no license plate strip and get this quick release.

when you said bumper cover as in that rectangle piece that you remove and screw in the plate where the two hook is right? if so i was planning on drilling it so it would be a simple screw in for the quick release, I live in SC and there is no law regarding No front license plate :] I'm originally from Hawaii and it is nice to meet you Bro! Still debating if I like the palm tree / sun design vs just the standard plate. Sun makes a couple of the characters hard to read from some angles, but ehhh all good.

Remove front plate by loosening allen bolts. Once it's off you van unscrew the pin with the 10mm.

I don't see where the pin is. I can only see where I can take off the plate holder. The spring mechanism part is still in the bumper. Sorry it's been a while since I originally installed this. Anybody have a copy of the original install instructions?

To take out the spring mechanism, I used my OEM 10mm wrench and stuck it in the hole with the shaft out. After, take an adjustable wrench or a vice grip and attach it to the handle of the OEM wrench. Turn the spring mechanism left until there's no more play then use the other wrench to continue forcing it loose.

I've done it on several occasions with no problem since my E36 molding wouldn't fit with the mechanism on. Or you can just solely use the OEM 10mm to force it loose if you're super buff. :p
