s50 vs. oem s14 timing chain tensioner

I'm slowly getting to know this 4 cylinder beauty and all the different noises she makes but I'm sure she's making the timing chain noise on cold start and sometimes even warm start.

So my questions are whether to "upgrade" to the s50 timing chain tensioner or go with a new OEM one? and...has anyone else experienced any additional rattling knowing that their tensioner needed to be replaced?

The motor is strong and has 155k miles, parking front downward on a grade relieves the clattering noise at cold start. Thanks in advance!
