Thanks, it's an absolute work of art...I wanted the airbox to look like something BMW would have made themselves, and the MAC fit the bill...most expensive E36 box out there, but worth every penny

Hey folks, happy new year to you all...not much has really happened since the arrival of the MAC Motoren box, had bills to pay and then Xmas so that really kills the M3 fund...however I have started getting paid again so the project shall resume...just noticed I have 21k views, so thanks

I ordered up a set of bearing shells for the car today (08/01/2013) and also a braided clutch hose, as per Paul's/Indy's/Kash's/Nadeem's recommendations - so cheers for that guys, your help is always appreciated.

Hopefully I can pick the shells up this week and I'll be chatting to Bilal about getting the car down to him for the Stage 2 work, consisting of:

ARP Rod bolts,
Bearing Shells,
Viscous fan clutch,
Belt replacement,
Pulley replacement,
Braided clutch fitment.

After that, Stage 3 will begin and that will be to fit the MAC Motoren carbon airbox, and perform a complete vacuum hose refurbishment...then get the car onto AlphaN

Some of you may remember that I said that I was going to do a clutch change along with the LTW flywheel...this is still on the cards however speaking to a previous owner, he said that he had the clutch changed 23,000 miles ago, and when Bil was working on the car last he mentioned he saw a copper brake pipe in place of the clutch line...whilst this didn't worry me in terms of safety because I can understand why someone might do this (no flex) it later occured to me that if the diameter of the pipe is larger than that of a standard clutch line, it would require a lot more effort to shift the fluid - thus making the clutch feel very spongey and right in the firewall...which is how it feels now. So rather than spending £700 on a new clutch and flywheel, I'd try a £35 hose first, see if that helps...

Once the weather warms up a little

I have another large update...

I have been uhmming and ahhing about exhausts for a while...my initial plan was to get something that nobody else had in the UK - a Meisterschaft exhaust...I have heard nothing from them about the release about this exhaust which was supposed to happen last year. From that I was going to do a custom valve exhaust setup however I was worried about losses with the valve closed and whether it would be *too* loud with it open.
I would have used the CA Auto dela last year on Eisenmann exhausts however at the time my car was with Bilal, having just spent £600 on parts and labour I just couldn't do it...
Nadeem did go for it however due to other circumstances never fitted his Eisenmann Race to his E36 - so I am going to head down to his tomorrow to pick it up and then take the car to Bilal's to get the Stage2 work done...
I hope he doesn't mind, I used some of his pics...
