Back in the game, I think

I haven't been on here in a while- work has been crazy, and Natalie (my e39) has been holding on to an ses code for going on two years now BUT, I've since bought a house and moved, and my now local BMW/Dinan dealer is 'guaranteeing' they can fix my SES light. So... here I am!

I have an appointment on the 30th of this month to not only have that SES light fixed, but they're lined up to install Dinan exhaust and stage 3 software, too. It only made sense since their fix for my light is reprogramming the ECU anyway. Or at least that's how I justify it.

After that, I'm speaking with a guy in Cali, looking to get his manual tranny and a 4.10LSD shipped out here so shortly after I get her back, I'll jump right into that conversion (she's auto) and hopefully I can get a few months of this nice weather to drive her before the snow comes back.

In the mean time, I've been driving a new (to me) E53 X5 which I absolutely love. No mods done on her yet, just wheels. I've been busy 'modding' the house.

So with that, I'm sure I'll post an update in my members journal when she gets all fixed up and upgraded and start looking at the next mod (I was at one point thinking of supercharging, until I couldn't get rid of that SES light. Kinda put a damper on things).

Edit: BTW, that exhaust and software upgrade, with the suspension package and throttle I have, gives me the Dinan badge I've so longed for.

Thanks guys!

Later that day (Friday) I got my plates for her and a 10 day temp inspection so I've been finding reasons to drive long distances for stupid things and man is it nice! I ordered a new set of brakes because after sitting for so long, they're just too rusted, and they were nearing the end as it is. But everything else aside from a few funny noises here and there is great!

Well, just an update. I showed up for my appointment for the exhaust and engine software today at 8:30, ended up leaving at 2pm with only the exhaust. Evidently my car wouldn't download the software. He made it seem as though it was a problem connecting to Dinan, not a problem connecting to my car, so I HOPE being that they're (Dinan HQ) closed on weekends, maybe their software server was off? Either way, I'm going back next Friday to try again and hopefully being a weekday and the HQ being open, they'll come up with something.

On a side note though, the Dinan exhaust sounds beautiful
