TEXAS Official MFEST 6 Caravan Thread!

alright Texans! MFEST 6 will be the weekend of April 20th! I will update this thread accordingly. Last year we repped TX well, this year we're putting TX on the map!

We are meeting in Fort Worth on Wednesday April 18th at 8:00am and depart at 8:30am, spend the night in Grants, New Mexico (11.5 hour drive), and arrive in Las Vegas Friday afternoon on the 19th (7.5 hour drive). This will give us time to get settled in and get the cars shined up before the events. We should depart sometime Monday and stop somewhere to sleep on the return trip (TBD as from experience, some of us recover from the weekend differently).

Departure Date & Time: Wednesday, April 18th 8:00am
Location: Fort Worth

Start Address: McDonalds
4420 Western Center Boulevard
Fort Worth, TX 76137-2044

End Address: 3325 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Paradise, NV 89109

Itinerary: these times are based upon the speed limit
1st Stop: Grants, NM (arrive approx: 8:00pm) spend night, depart at 8:00am on ____
2nd Stop: Las Vegas NV (Palazzo Hotel) (arrive approx: 3:30pm)

If you have any concerns let me know.

Items to consider bringing with you:
- helmet
- Motorola 2-way radios
- Radar Detector
- Basic tools for your car
- Spare tire (if you have it)
- 5 hour energy shots
- snacks
- A Cooler w/ YOUR Favorite drinks in it
- Batteries & there charger
- AAA for the unexpected or
- The phn number to an Auto transporter/broker just in case catastrophy strikes and you need your vehicle brought back home
- EMERGENCY FUNDS if possible

**also, if you live anywhere south of Killeen and would like to stay at my house Wednesday night before we leave just let me know.

pricing last year was:

$150 (males) $60 (females) to register
$145/night (4 nights for the TX folks) for the hotel
$60 for drag strip
$160 for the road course

The only thing that's mandatory is registration but from personal experience I highly recommend staying at the Palazzo as it is the hub for all things MFEST during the trip.

Oviously, splitting the hotel room with someone is a quick way to save money.

hey i am down but this would be my first time going to Mfest and i wanna know what i am getting myself into

would LOVE to go but im PCSing to Lewis in Dec and then off to ANCOC in VA for the month of April...

the min that you meet with everyone else and caravan to vegas its an awsome feeling to be a big part of a fam, and make sure you get plenty of sleep ahead of time cause its non stop fun.

The others are right but really, nothing will prepare you. It's an event you have to experience to believe!

Try to change your ALC dates? At any cost, you don't want to miss it.

Matt, I am down for the trip. As posted in the other thread, I am willing to help with the plan, just have to wait till I get back. Also have to check the schedule and the wifey availability. She may just fly out. MTF.
