E46 M3 CB/IR SMG aka “NEM3SES”

Here's how he came to be:

JULY 2002
My older brother graduated from Berkeley in 02 and I remember going with him to BMW of Bakersfield and test driving these ultimate driving machines for the first time along with him! At the time my brother was a mercedes man, but even HE couldn't resist BMW's calling haha! Needless to say he eventually made his way to the showroom and was able to give me the privilage of sitting in a 02 BMW Carbon Blk M3 SMG fully loaded...I was in awe!!! complete awe!! The carbon black color was unlike any paint job I had ever seen, and the leather interior had that new car smell!! And when I touched the SMG knob I almost nutted haha! j/k but I was in the clouds seriously lol... they didn't even let him test drive it lol it was so new haha...Needless to say he ended up gettin a new 540 instead (he wanted a bigger car) but I remember the lease deal he was offered on the M3 was like something like $800/mo and the sticker being something like $55 or $60k!!! I also remember how completely bumbed I was that I couldn't afford one myself lol, I would have taken anything bmw a 325 at the time even lol...


APPROX 6 yrs later...
I came back from college to help out my family with the business and thought to myself, NOW IS THE TIME! I used to have a "motivational" poster in my dorm room that had the ///M3 cluster/dash,

Since 2002 I fell in love with this car and new it was for me....I had never driven one but I knew...

FEBRUARY 2008
Then opportunity knocked, an older gentlemen had a 02 Jet Blk with almost 100K miles on sale in the local add for a cheap 18K! I ended up getting it for 17.5K no joke! All maintenance records oil changes and inspections were legit. The guy kept in in really good shape! And that was how I came across M3LONY (my first M3 baby)




Unfortunately my times with M3LONY were short lived, a month later I decided to take a canyon cruise with the DSC off and totalled her...luckily I wasn't hurt. It was pretty painful, I felt like the biggest idiot I'm not gonna lie, and like barely a few weeks before the 1st Mfest...I was so bumbed...

After the insurance cashed me out, I remember I was so desperate to get back into an M3! I still had my old car, a 2004 Toyota Camry, and I remember I almost wanted to cry when I first sat down into the Camry’s seat lol all uncomfortable and not hugging me at all lol.
MARCH 2008
I searched for another month until I found NEM3SES at Century West BMW. Before that I almost bought a 03 silver M3 from a guy in San Diego but he didn't have it paid off and the deal seemed shady to me. When I saw NEM3SES online I fell in love with the picture, and the Imola Red interior just sealed the deal for me!!! I called the manager and told him exactly the following:

"I have 10K to give down on this car, your asking $37K plus taxes and fees which you claim is around $40 out the door...I’ll give you the 10K down and you finance $25K and you sell it to me for $35K out the door... Here’s my info, call me back if this is do-able as I don't want to waste your time or mine"; that afternoon the deal was done LOL and I drove up to N. Hollywood after work to pick him up.

It was funny because when I went my dad would not shut up on how this was the worst investment ever and pretty much spoiled my excitement to pick him up...The salesman was like "why aren't you excited" I was like, "I know what I'm getting, just let me sign the papers, give me the keys, and let me go home" lol







Coming from a 4cyl Toyota Camry to a 333hp S54 motor, the M3 satisfied my need for performance and power immensely! I always felt if I modded NEM3SES it would be for cosmetics only…at least that’s what I thought back then haha! So come Bimmerfest 08, my cosmetic modding began!

MAY 3rd BIMMERFEST 2008
A few weeks before this event I bought my first and most useful mod IMHO:



I was still rollin stock that weekend:




However thanks to JleviSW.com’s booth, I was able to buy a few “essential” parts:

- rear led taillights (smoked)

- painted reflectors
- depo smoked corners
- keyhole delete
- umnitza predator chormiums



JUNE2008
Around this time “Farbod” from M3forum parted out his E46 M3 and I grabbed the BSW Subwoofer/speaker setup. My cousin used to do stereos at a local shop; he did the install for me:

July 2008
I absolutely loved my 19” OEM wheels, but I knew I wasn’t going to hang onto them that long. After seeing all the modded Ms at bimmerfest and being in the automotive aftermarket wheel business, I knew nothing showed my individuality more than a decent set of custom wheels! The first time I saw the Ray’ s VOLK LE wheel was on the top secret Toyota Supra and I knew I had to get a set! Then I saw it on a Carbon Blk M3 on M3forum and I was convinced yet again!!!!

Finally “S54flexin” of M3forum had a FS: thread on these in Long Beach and snagged these up real quick:

around the same time I picked up this diffusor on M3forum, but quickly parted it out in exchange for a painted CB one that was in high demand!!



OCTOBER 2008

I went the ebay route and picked these up and did the install myself. It was a pita since i never had taken the bumper off but they turned out looking good:

Around this same time last year I attended the Wheelpower Meet and later the Bay Area trip up north. After these two events I was hooked on MFest! Still to this day the best group of guys I've ever been affiliated with

The day I took this pic with my iphone in front of my cousins house I honestly thought I'd be done with the modding lol... boy was I wrong. Seeing the Mfester's cars and getting everyone's opinions only fueled my desire to save up and keep modding...

NOVEMBER 2009

I was finally fed up with tryin to get my DICE silverline to operate correctly that I ended up parting it out on M3forum and opted for the more expensive but MUCH better intravee II ipod interface. This interface for NAV M3s' is unmatched!!! BEST interface out there!!!!


JANUARY 2009

This month was one of the proudest months for my modding history. I've longed for the CSL bootlid ever since I first saw the CSL M3! I never dreamed I'd find an OEM one!! The seller was from M3forum and he had just wrecked his CB M3. Fortunately for me, the OEM CSL bootlid was still intact! I picked it up from "shangaidaddy" in the bay area and thanks to my good friend Fern aka "Daytonavoilet" I was able to get this fitted and installed that same day! (the homelink and eurotray the seller through in with the deal)



FEBRUARY 2009
- Billstien PSS9 Coil-overs/Turner Camber plates
I was tired of everyone asking me when I was going to drop my 4X4 lol, so I finally decided to do something about it. At the time I wasn't in the market just yet, I was still saving up, but a M3forum member posted these (used set) in exchange for stock suspension and cash on top. I jumped on this deal and the guys at VIP Status took care of the labor and hooked Nem3ses up with these!!!

MARCH 2009
- Eurodyne CF fabric/trim install
I had planned to get the EAS CF trim but the price always deterred me. Finally Jo@Eurodyne introduced me to CF fabric and it prompted me to pick up a cheap set of wood trim and try the DIY. I liked the results so much that I parted out my aluminum trim and decided to do the CF fabric all around!

Around the same time, my good friend Eric (erock90) helped me change out my OEM rtabs which I didn't think would be as bad as we found them!


APRIL 2009 MFEST 3 VIP!
A month that will go down in the history books for NEM3SES!!! I got to represent Eurodyne at their booth at the track day:



As stated earlier plans for performance mods weren't really there. However I experienced one of the most exciting moments in my life at Mfest 3 for me and NEM3SES; something that would trully set him apart! I became one of the guys (along with Thomas lol) at MFest 3 to win 2 big ticket items:

Inspection II was greatly appreciated! Nem3ses felt new and refreshed thanks to Southbay Autohaus (you have all my future business!!)
Going from N/A to F/I 400whp has been amazing!! NEM3SES has trully risen from the ranks!!!

SEPTEMBER 2009

My bumper and hood had tremendous rock chips but I just didn't have the funds to replace them just yet. Unlucky (yet lucky) for me I was backed into and ended up having to get these parts replaced. (My days with the Hamman Rep Lip were short lived lol) PROPS to Nate and the guys at C&C and Vorstiener; These two pieces really brought NEM3SES to that next level!!!! The two body panels that bugged me the most are now my 2 favorite onces!!! (*Clear bra next!)
