Driving the speed limit...

So today after filling up my gas tank and realizing how much it was I decided to start driving like a normal person. No more shifting pass 2500 and trying to keep it under 2000 in final gear. I've done this before when I first got my license back and it seriously one of the hardest things to do. Driving back to my house on the freeway doing exactly 65mph, while having cash fo clunker cars pass you is really hard thing to do At least for me. Just wanted to see how you guys feel about saving gas and driving the actual speed limit.

Yes there no fun in doing it but you have to do it. Kind of like going shopping with your girlfriend at the mall.hahaha I hate holding bags. Sometimes I wish I drove a hybrid I know I can't believe I just wrote that but it's true. But I guess that's what happens when you want a monster for a car it has to be fed.

I know for sure that time depends on traffic and timing on lights etc... But on gas when I used to do it I would fill up every 4-6 days instead of 2-3 and I used drive at least 60 miles a day roundtrip for work. But I will keep you posted because I'll actually monitor it this time.

well normal driving which was 90% side streets and 10% freeway, id roughly get 16.8-17.5mpgs...i keep track now that i have a further drive and see if just my normal driving with 80 freeway and 20 streets will change that much in mpg...then ill go for the no higher than 2.5k shifts! =)

i do mostly highway driving to work and 95% of the time i'm doing the speed limit. the other 5% is when i'm running really late and that's when i start to get a 'lead' foot. i also notice that speeders don't really get to their destination faster than you. if they exit the same exit as you, you'll usually find them at the light waiting for you

as far as gas goes, i drive an e30 as my daily and i usually gas up every week and a half as oppose to gassing up every week with 'aggressive' driving.

Well I guess I can't track my gas this week my EML light came on as well as ses lights so my car is on 'limp mode'. Very bad timing.
