Aloha folks, jus wanted to share with you 1/4 mile junkies the following info i copied from MBWorld. Please start a signup sheet if you are intrested in running your car(s) and please keep in mind that there will be AMG's, STR8's and others paricipating as well. Last years event was a blast and i look forward to seeing my MFEST bruddahs on da track! Spots are filling up fast so let's get this goin. I will merge our thread with da MBWorld thread soon, so you can see who else is bringing da heat.

Ladies and gentlemen,

It is this time of year again.... I have reserved Famoso Raceway 1/4 mile drag strip on November 21st for our exclusive use. We will have both lanes available to us as well as full use of the entire facility including the barbeque grills

Last time the event was limited to 35 cars (not including the 3 different waiting lists); this time, we will open the event up to maybe 50 or even 60 cars depending on demand. Spots will be given on a first-sign-up-first-serve-basis, so please don't add your name unless you know for sure that you will be attending, as I would like to try and get an accurate count this time.

The payment per car is undetermined at this point and will likely depend on how many cars will want to attend. To be safe, however, I would estimate between $200 to $250 per car for now. Yes, I know.... Famoso (unfortunately) is one of the expensive tracks. Exact payment will be determined before November 2nd and payment should be submitted no later than November 8th as I have to meet with the owner on November 9th to give him payment and finalize a few things.

Now for the good news.....

Instead of trying to race very early in the morning (to get optimum conditions), we will start later in the day and stop 1-hour (or longer) AFTER sunset depending on conditions. At Famoso, right after sunset, temps drop very fast and so does DA At worst case scenario we'll get a high of 72 F during the day and 58 F shortly after sunset. At best case scenario, we'll get a high of 52 F and a low of 44 F.

Those of you that know Famoso, you know that under normal operating schedule: March to September the temps are extremely high and not suitable for getting good times. Well, there is very good temps and good low DA from November through January. Unfortunately, the track is normally closed. As a favor to me, the owner has allowed me two private rentals during that period, and this is one of them Expected temps will be in the low 60s and DA of under 700 ft
