DDM Coilovers and products

Hey all, so i've read numerous threads regarding the DDM Coilovers only to come out more confused than ever . I'm sure I speak for tons of people out there. Some judge the craftmanship, some judge the lack of customer support on DDM's behalf, some have gone as far as to say they are actually dangerous and in some cases have caused death or roll overs.........so what is the truth??

750$ is a bargain price considering you would need at least 1250-1500$ for an introductory coilover set from say, H&R. I've read too many opinions and the purpose of this thread is to finally come up with an answer. So fellas, please post your real world experience with these or any of the DDM products such as the exhaust....350$ from what sounds like a nicely tuned exhaust. Is it worth it? Anybody have it?

And I really want to stress, lets please not make this another pointless thread, there are far too many out there.

Let the posting begin!

Whats cracking bro! Yeah I know a dude that has the DDM coilovers in his car. He gave me a ride in his car and it held up pretty good. Pretty stiff suspension i have to say. But honestly I have heard stories as well. For $750 I guess you get what you pay for. What do you plan to do with them? Just lower or for track and such as well?

But anyways, I was thinking about buying them too just for a good drop. But I do like my Bilstein shocks with H&R Springs.

Read up on this if you have not yet and I believe that DDM is doing some work on the coilovers and updating them right now too.

Hope this helps with your decision!

Sup braddah! If you are looking to take the plunge on the coilovers, i'd be interested in buying your current set up. Let me know how much......
You hear all kinds of weird stories with the coilovers, but for 750$....it sounds like it might be worth risking it. I like the tunability the DDM coilovers have, with the camber adjustment plates and all. I wouldn't go full blown track car, but for an event like MFest 4, it be nice to be able to take it out on the track.
So what exactly was the ride like in the car you went in? Pretty harsh? Has he had any problems? Does the set up look clean and professional? How low was his car? Sorry to ask soo many questions, but it just sounds too good to be true. Thanks for the info though, btw, you making it out tonight?

So it seems as if the DDM Coilovers are a no go for the moment, what do you guys think about the DDM Lowering springs? They state that they are manufactured to H&R specs and for a 100$, kind of hard not to be tempted

I have no beef with DDM but I get lots of customers asking us to put these on their cars. I refuse and will not install or sell those coilover kits to anyone.

Please save your money until you get a good quality Coilover kit ie Ground Control, KW, Bilstein... I understand for a lot of people times are tough but why go cheap and risk your life because of a cheap product?

I appreciate the wisdom braddah! As stated, I have read articles where some people claim these coilovers have caused roll overs and in one case, death. A cheap price for the part, but a hefty price to pay when it can cost you your life. I believe i'll just be installing some H&R race springs with adjustable koni shocks and call it a day.

Another fellow MFest and E36 member (Kevin) was also considering these and even took a ride in a car with the coilovers installed, but was not impressed.

Long story short, best to stick with what works. I wouldn't want any of my MFesters exposed to danger!

Lawrence, from the sound of it, do you own a shop? are you local in SoCal? If so, where and what company are you with? Once the suspension is purchased, i'm going to need a reliable installer to both install and give me a pretty aggressive alignment
