Owie: dealership crashes customers M5 while goofing around in it

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...est-drive.html

Apparently many already know about this, but I thought I'd share for those that haven't heard.

I've only ready the OP so far, not the whole thread (needs Coles Notes)

We've seen this same scenario every year...guy brings his car to the dealer and the service guy or porter drives the car out and crashes it...this is why everyone have to be careful on which dealership or shop they bring their car in for maintenance or warranty

Jalopnik broke down the details lol!

That's crazy, Is that the procedure when taking a car for an oil change to test drive the vehicle as well? I was never aware of such procedure.

Not necessary but sometimes they they drive it around the block jsut to make sure everything is ok with the car...This type of incident does not only happen to BMW and or car dealerships but happens to regular shops aswell, shop owner or worker drives the car around town (going out and doing groceries ) while the the owner drops it off for aftermarket parts/ install...that's why you guys have to beware and make sure you tell the shop not drive the car unless necessary and if they have to, is to call you before hand...
