E90 M3 - Exhaust Cutouts and Custom Tips!!!

I posted some of this in my build thread but never built a thread just for the exhaust. Below are some pictures of the installation.

The cutouts are Race Ready. The actual cutouts seem to be really strong. The other pieces that came with the kit, not so much. We had to re-fabricate most of what was needed to set it up. I did the wiring install myself. There were some tricks to get it to work right. But its flawless!!!

Hard to get a good sound clip of it, but I am going to try again soon.

Install

Here is a sound clip from the day of the installation
.

The switch.

Here is a video of the switch in action.

And last but not least, here is a video of the car on a dyno, opened and closed. Not much HP difference, but at least Im not losing HP.

nice, and you just modified the stock headlight switch to work with the provided switch?

are you running stock sec 1,2 ? with adding the cut outs you gain any horse power?
wats the benefits of doing that? or is it only for sound ?

Everything is stock. With the cutouts open, its just like no muffler. I can decide how loud I want it. Stock/Wife in car/Kid in car/MONSTER!

Pretty much no gains, the dyno showed 3HP difference.

This is by far the best mod I have done to the car. I use it every day. My kids rooms are above my garage, so its a huge help when they are sleeping. I also dont like rolling up to my office or clients offices with it really loud. But when I drive, its open 99% of the time.

Thanks again!

Its like $300 for the parts from race ready, and you would have to find a shop to do the welding. I can do the wearing and switch. If your really going to do it, email me to talk about the switch install. The tips are also something you have a lot of options for.
